    So I've got the 550 in the bodyshop and the black cover panel as you open the engine bay is flaking quite badly. It has some crinkle paint finish.

    Curious if anyone else has the same problem and how you went about fixing it?

    IMO its a simple fix but it needs to be taken back to bare metal.
    Before painting it needs to be etched then painted in Crinkle black, an oven is good but its a big panel if its in the shop get them to do it in their oven.

    Use Paint stripper, stuff in steel can
    light sand the metal
    spray heavy coat, heavy but even coat, of VHT crinkle
    Put in Oven, VIP....need to put in oven to activate and get finish
    Took me a few tries but got it done well

    Wow that's nice but I'll attempt a DIY Fix with VHT :)
