About a half hours worth. Amazing car, but I was always aware of how valuable the thing I was driving was. Granted if I was more wealthy perhaps I wouldn't have felt that way. That to me makes it hard to refer to it as a "drivers car". Great piece of tech. Art even. But drivers car to me is something you can sling around a track or the street and then park it somewhere without worrying about someone keying it. We all have our own definitions for this stuff I suppose though.

Joe, you always post reasonably and i always respect and mostly agree with your views, which is a huge exception to a lot of the things i read on these boards....and in this case i do too, but would simply add that once you get over the price or can forget about the price, the Veyron blows me away every time i drive it! and it is soooo misunderstood by enthusiasts.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. To be fair I wouldn't call any of the big three a drivers car either. Too expensive, too much tech, too powerful. 911 Gt3 or 458 for me.

they are the best at what they do, by far

the Regera is an unreliable joke and you can't compare aftermarket twin turbo lambos (which also suffer from many problems) to the Veyron

really looking forward to getting the chance to try the Chiron

it'll be heavier than the aston but it will also have the traction advantage off the line/out of corners

aston is collaborating with experts within each field

mercedes will be using it's current dominant F1 team to develop the car, aston will be using someone with years worth of F1 wins experience under their belt (adrian newey)

the aston has revealed its aero to be the most extreme EVER on a road car, mercedes has yet to reveal their aero set-up

Did you attend the Geneva showing? Is the showing next week an advancement or update of the project or similar showing to the Geneva event?

Recall that the car that set the record was a pre-production version and did not have all the functionality of the production version. Given that and the new faster track layout, it would make sense to set a new time as a true benchmark of the car's potential. Whether or not they share the info will be up to them.

Today I've visited the amg headquarters to see the p one.
The car is really impressive, unfortunately I can't tell more because I've signed a nda agreement.
difficult to get one because interest is multiple times the copies of the car...

Aston is cosworth engine, rimac batteries, not very clear at the moment the power/weight ratio, the car is so little, probably big problems to fit with helmets, I prefer without a doubt the Mercedes

Auto bild raced a 918 against a superbike in their latest issue. Does anyone have access to the data/articles to post?

You do have a GCF account? Well either way, here you go chief.

(Little info: the 918s PDK held back the Big Bang until the car reached 30 km/h... with a better launch 2,4 sec would be possible, according to the author)

So nothing really shown with that test. Acceleration is pretty much on top of each other. Surface may have been pretty bad as 918 really tailed off after 280 kph. Author is correct in that 2.4s has been done with regularity by 918's. That's evidenced by the number of sub 9.8 s quarter miles while this publication managed a 9.99s. Still, data is data. Just wish I read German.
