There is little correlation between the Middle East and US markets. Note this one also has 51,000 miles.

Mileage tends to be on the higher side in the Middle East. My Scag was a "high mileage" example with 60+km when purchased a few years ago, but it has proven to be extremely reliable. As far as i'm concerned the mileage will matter more to "collectors" (speculators).

Taz is correct, there is certainly very little correlation with US prices. Often the prices are significantly lower - in Kuwait at least. A friend recently purchased a 2006 Scag for significantly less than half of the above asking... different markets tho. UAE tends to be a little bit higher than here, although this one seems high even for UAE looking at other comps. Generally I've seen them go in the in the 50's to low 60's.

Unfortunately, with the US standards it's near impossible to export there, however if the price is right Europe is a possibility. It's not uncommon to have buyers fly out to inspect the car and ship it back to Europe. Even after paying the travel, shipping, VAT and registration it often ends up cheaper. Only thing needed is a certificate of compliance, and someone correct me if i'm wrong but early GCC cars were Euro spec anyways.

May be my eyes but it looks like it doesn't have sports (propeller) exhaust tips. I thought these were standard on all OTOs..?

I agree it doesnt look to have them, and the sports exhaust was available on OTOs as an option, and standard on OTOs equipped with the HGT2 package. The standard OTO exhaust is much richer than the pre-2008 non-HGTX exhaust, which is also noticably quieter.

I recently disabled the muffler bypass valves on my OTO with standard exhaust and the sound difference is dramatic. The ecu mapping for opening the exhaust bypass must restrict it to only high levels of load and throttle input. According to how my car sounds now during idling and normal driving, it seems the bypass opened very infrequently before. The only slight negative is a bit of drone at highway cruising around 3300 rpm where before it was completely silent. I can live with that . I was considering upgrading my mufflers before but now so happy with the sound and its a 5 minute procedure!

Did you go with Forza Componenti from this forum or a different solution?

I've been considering either the Forza bypass or a set of Tubis. Obviously i'd prefer the bypass option but I hadn't seen any feedback on the froza bypass, or any bypass on the Scag.

No. Pulled the vacuum hoses to the bypass valves and plugged them. No effect on performance or emissions. 100% free and reversible.

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know there is tangible sound improvement with the easy mod.

Yea that one sure has some lumps. Not bad if u want a less than perfect example to drive. Nice color combination and like the modulars.

That said, the $72k price is not outrageously lower than other 2005's on the market. Some 2010's have asks almost double the dubai car.

Anyone know why the prices are so much lower in Dubia than the US? Something to do with taxes?
