Sultan of Brunei's Car Collection

A few photos of the Ferrari 550 Spider I found online (including the recent one from Brunei which appeared on Instagram). Apparently it was on auction-sale at HR Owen back in 2007 and now it should be back in Brunei.

That Buccaneer photo was taken in New Zealand where it had gone to be serviced. Someone showed it to me several months ago.

Thanks to a friend from Brunei, I found out the meaning of the number plate KC1954, first found on the black Ferrari LaFerrari and then on the black McLaren P1. Photos below:

- KC is KC del Rosario, daughter of Prince Jefri and Evangeline del Rosario (Filipino model);
- 1954 is Prince Jefri's year of birth.

Regarding the Brunei 550 Spider:

As shown on one of the photos, my brother Arvid and I spotted this very special Ferrari 550 Spider in Monaco in May 2002. I recently found my old MiniDV tapes and decided to make a short video of the shots that I made 15 years ago.

The start point of the route of the red LaFerrari in the video is very near the speculated location of the Sultan's garages and workshops.

Attached is a screenshot I took showing the start point of the route with the nearby garages circled in red, as well as an image from the Imgur album showing the layout of the garages.

Here's a really cool photo of the Brunei Royal Family's collection of Jaguar XJ220s - at least one in each color they built. This was taken by a visitor to the collection in 2001 and very recently shared via IG user @arya__w.

We can tell by the registration plate 'BM220' that the black one is first on that list.

Sharp eyes will also note what appears to be black Ferrari FX in front of the line of XJ220s.

Good Lord! It's so saddening knowing that this must be the most astonishing automotive collection on the entire globe, yet the most mysterious.

Does he use his cars at least? So sad to see cars like these sitting in a multi million hangar....

 

Even if he did, there are so many of them that the majority would suffer from neglect.

Here we go again with another old photo from inside the infamous Brunei collection. This time we can spot quite a few Porsche 959's in various colors and a "sea" of other Porsche's all around them. Stumbled upon this thread while being bored revising for exams. I lived in Brunei for 16 years from 1998-2014 and have always been a big car nut. My father actually bought a 1992 600SL from one of the royal auctions in the mid 2000s and I have seen and photographed a number of cars while I was in Brunei.
Very nice to see the photos I took of the 599GTO and 458 at the Empire a number of years ago made their way onto the thread. Here are a few photos you guys may be interested in with some odd cars I spotted. Apologies for the poor quality they were taken on my terrible Nokia back in the day.

The Range Rover Limo was right across the road from my guitar teacher. They also had an old Bentley (not sure what model) that had a sparkles in the paint job when you saw it in the sunlight.
The CLS and SL are/were both royal cars I'm fairly sure.
The 430 was taken at Jerudong International School (always a hotspot for spotting). One of the princes would be driven to school in a Ferrari 612 everyday which was always fun to spot.

It's a shame my interest in the Sultan's collection only really came about after moving away from Brunei as I probably would have had enough connections while I was there to get a look into the collection. Feel free to ask me any questions though and I'll be happy to answer if I can

Another Instagram photo has appeared recently. It seems that the red Ferrari LaFerrari got spotted at the Empire Hotel in Jerudong in the first days of June. Just one photo available unfortunately. The location seems to be the same as from previous photos. See previous posts.

Can someone please help me to identify this car? It was spotted in Brunei back in 2014 by a fellow Bruneian friend. Unfortunately this is the only photo I have. It seems to be a mix of Jaguar and Bentley. It looks so British. Maybe just a Chinese knockoff? Maybe just a Korean luxury sedan from back in the days? I have googled and googled and googled but came with nothing. I know I have seen it in the past somewhere online but couldn't come up with a solution. ANY HELP?

Very Bentley meets Jaguar type of look, but combined with the shoddiness, makes me think Blenheim Not any model I know of however. Shame the quality is so poor, maybe if we could make the logo out a bit better. Alternatively potentially something obscure from Japan or China?
