Alex you really should drive in paddle shift mode way more fun anyway.
Wanted to second Dave on this... Had Daniel do mine over 2 years ago and it's still rock solid. Not very expensive to do and well worth every penny. Just make sure you don't power up or start the car while your instrument cluster is unplugged during the shipping/receiving process. It'll likely fire your airbag warning light. Easily rectified at any shop with an SDX, but a pain that can be avoided.
Jeff - the airbag warning will only happen if you disconnect one or more of the airbags under power (or turn power on with them disconnected). But, in general, I support your statement as I don't mess with any electronics under power.
Nope, I have to say with the cluster out just for this fix I turned my battery on for some reason with the gauges out, and in that instant it happened to me because I turned it off real quick and upon plugging in the gauges the damn air bag light was on. Don't ask me why but it happened to me.
Dont know about yours Dave but mine as well and it says so in the manual. The airbag system checks both airbags and the light for functionality. If the light is unplugged and power supplied it will throw the light permanently on bcause it thinks the light is intermittent. My guess is , and I can not confirm, but if your unfortunate enough that your airbag light burns out when you replace it it will be Permanently on until its reset. You can ask me how I know if you like.
Thanks for setting me straight on this guys. I've not removed the cluster on my 98 under power but did on the 95.
Good and dont until you have your leonardo Actually dont anyway. I tried to put a couple smilly faces after the word leonardo but It did not work wtf
