Well it's been going through my head for a while now with all the bs of this restoration ,and sometimes I think I would like to clean house and simplify my life. The reply was more sarcasm toward myself. Right now I'm actually a little excited about the car. But that can change. I think once it gets home I'll feel better about it.

    Hello
Just found this interesting thread. Wery useful info, since my -75 gt4 seats needs to be restored also. Thanks.
I have noted, that original leather has dye only in surface. Most modern leathers have been dyed trough.
Picture shows piece of broken and cracked leather removed from the smooth side of the front seat. Also in my seats, the center texture is different. I think it is a bit thinner, than the side ones.

Man I thought my seats were bad ! Not really sure about the center section being thinner mine was remade with the same thickness. The original Connolly leather was vegetable dyed. The newer Ferrari leathers are Autolux which is what was used on my seats. I believe it is a analine leather I forgot all the types. Hopefully they will look ok with the rear original seats. You Ned some leather from Vic's upholstery Topsonline.com.

Thank Kevin. Two Spray outs were shown to me yesterday. And I can hang curtains on the beige colors I saw. Hmmm if I just had one more formula from a bodyshop in Michigan maybe I could spend the paint selection along?

Do you have colour code for the Autolux leather, used on your remade seats?

I don't think there is a specific code other than it is black. it depends on where the upholstery shop buys it from. and also the different lots of leather will have a different shade of black, so if you are only redoing the front seats for example , it wont be the same color as the rest of the interior like mine will be. So you need to get samples from your upholsterer and check it against your interior, It will not match the plasticy looking shiney original leather but its better than having seats that are ripped and dry rotted. I can post the codes on my samples if you like. Btw the original black was Connolly vaumol vm8500. NLA

I took a closer look also underneath my seats. The center section leather appears to be the same as the sides. I tend to think, it has textured and worn differently in use compared to the sides. As mentioned earlyer in this thread. Just to correct my previous conclusions and post.
