    Just curious on how long it took you? I have the 30k service being completed by a shop. Not sure if I'll ever take it on myself.

    In time working on it, it was about 4 days. It took me about a month and a half due to waiting for parts I purchased once I got in there. Plus I don't have a lot of time to dedicate towards it. I also decided to change a bearing in the gearbox that I wasn't sure about.

    Thanks for posting the pics. Looks like you did a thorough job.

    How long and how many miles since the previous major?

    How many miles total on the engine? What did the old tensioner pads look like and could you post pics?

    Looks to be a pretty early car. Was it built before the factory front cover bearing update or do you have any knowledge of it having been changed in the past?

    What tips and tricks did you learn along the way?

    I think that's the latest aftermarket water pump sold by Ricambi. It looks the same as my new one....

    The previous major was completed in 2010 and looks like about 6k miles looking at the receipts. There is just over 40k on the car and the tensioners had some light wear but really not that bad. I only have the pics I posted and I tossed the old parts. It was built before the bearing change but the bearing had already been changed... and I changed it again.
    There really isn't much to add to Ernie's thread. I used a piston stop instead of a dial indicator to find TDC. I did not like the timing wheel so I switched to just marking the balancer and using a pointer.
