    I'm not in the market....

But those detailed pictures are incredible.

45 years old and virtually perfect.

    I like it.

This makes me think of all of the little collectibles that I have gotten over the years from family that has past on, or well meaning relatives that bought something back then & still have it - just to give it to me for safe keeping. Its enjoyable.

Nothing against the stuff I get (or this car) but I always say to myself "why this?"

For example I received (from family) a coin collection. But... Its a penny coin collection. Its mint, and complete. But its value is limited by the fact that its very pedestrian. I looked it up. Its worth only my love for it. I have gotten loads of stuff like my penny collection over the years & I now wish that I could somehow travel through time & tell my then young relatives to maybe step up to something with more wow factor. Get the half dollar collection! I would tell them. Or I would ask them to store away a perfect barbers pole or maybe a perfect gas pump. Maybe some popular board game of the time. Or perfect set of lawn darts (remember those?). In this cars case I would have said "Take a look at the Mach 1" ~ that would be wow factor 10.

I am not taking anything away from them at all... Its superb that anyone takes care of things & keeps them as nice as this perfect LTD. But it & other things like them have been a life lesson for me. These days for me I always try to get the preferred version of whatever I am interested in. Thinking in advance that I don't mind paying a bit more for something that very well could be mind-blowing in forty / fifty more years. I would bet there were left over Boss 429's sitting on the lot when this LTD was preferanced! Think of one of those in this perfect condition all those years later.

I think about my parents' estate to come. even said to dad once "what am i going to do with all this junk?"

I'll get the Austin Healey back, my bro will take one of the muscle cars, but he's got a PERFECT 70k mile 1989 Lebaron turbo convertible in triple white. he's kept it incredibly well all these years. it's cool and silly at the same time.

The window sticker says 400ci 2v (2 barrel carb). Last summer I picked up an 1984 Olds Delta 88 with 22600 miles. While maybe not quite a capable as newer cars they have their own merits.

I had a '71 LTD Convertible a few years back- Red on Red with a white top. Had an 8-track with Black Sabbath's Paranoid. I thought I was the coolest kid ever in High School.

Everyone complains about the cost of Porsche's options but check out the list on this car.....$1211.96  Although if you think about it that's almost 30% of the base price added on! Cool car, it reminds me of my childhood!!

    :)

Great looking car! I had a '71, 429 convertible for many years, rode like a dream down the highway. Noticed the Ebay ad says NO RESERVE auction, but the bid says: reserve has not been met?

But that photograph PROVES that you were 100% the coolest kid ever in High School.

    Thank you!

No, I just looked at it again -if by chance I made a mistake - it states it is a Reserve Auction.

I had '68 LTD as my first car, light blue when I got it, black when I got rid of it.

My dad had one. I remember the constant blue air around the house when it refused to start. Damn thing left us stranded more then it got us anywhere. Cool looking machine, but what a complete junk box.

Did it sell? Under pic does show 1 picture with just a little bit of rust so I'd take the zero rust off. Zero means zero. 99.9999 percent rust free. Cool car. What camera did you use? I need to find a couple of 1964 cars to match the house, in this condition.
