Well, this is quite weird as historically Ferrari saves Geneva for all new models and shows VS models at Frankfurt and Paris, anyway, better Geneva than waiting for Paris, that would be too long. I was hoping a surprise for Finali Mondiali 2017. Any source?

It will be based on the new platform and the coupé version will be a kind of new Dino...

I joined this site after years of sitting back lurking just to follow the upcoming 488 GTO. I sure hope they call it the GTO to pay homage to the 288 GTO and become a proper successor. If only I could find out what is happening behind close doors at Ferrari

Agreed. Why would a buyer of a new modern Ferrari want a manual shift? I can see Porsche keeping one, drove a buddies new 911 twin turbo and the paddle shifter was slow, uneventful and just "sad" compared to the shifts in the Scud.

What year? My PDK GT3 is lightning quick in manual mode....definitely not as violent as the Scud but then again nothing I've ever driven is.....Porsche tranny is better than my 458 IMO.....

Pdk and ferrari dct are equally great when in manual mode or driven sedately in auto. Porsche logic is better when auto on track. It always knows what to do when ferraris makes mistakes.

Best guess is Geneva 2018 with pre-orders opening end of summer 2017 and actual customers deliveries early 2019.

Here in the UK, some of the dealers are now closed for pre-orders given demand. They are expecting the factory to impose an eligibility criteria, so there may still be a chance for those on the pre-order waiting list. Expectation is Geneva, as you say.

    16M easy(ish) also

599 GTO, easy to get with one or two previous cars

    In UK.

Will that ever happen again ?

Real question is 488 GTO or Porsche GT2RS (Weissach) - Going to be a tough choice.

If you already have a Speciale - what would you do ?

I don't think you can go wrong either way.......but.....if Ferrari does call it the GTO and make it a true successor to the 288 GTO then I see it being an all dominating icon. The F12 tdf took people breath away with its savage like behaviour. I feel that the 488 GTO will do the same......I wonder if it might even challenge the LaFerrari like the 430 Scuderia did to the Enzo??

Is there definitive news on gt2? I hadn't seen anything new. Is it even going to be an rs model? What does weissach indicate? Thanks

Scuderia and Speciale were launched at Frankfurt, no reason to doubt that whatever comes next in the VS lineup will launch there.
