I refurbished my Nardi wheel today on my 1980 308 GTSi. Stripped, sanded and redyed the leather. I'm thinking I might use a replacement wheel for everyday use. I was looking at the current Nardi. Has anyone replaced their wheel and what are my options? What fits? Thanks!

P.S. Someone at the show this weekend claimed this wasn't the OEM wheel for my model. I told him he was incorrect and he argued. Any thoughts?

That wheel is correct for the 80 to 82 2Vi cars.

Yours being an 80 makes it a tiny bit unique in that the very first came with silver spoked Nardi. Same wheel as that but spokes were silver not black. At some point during the 80 model production run, Ferrari changed it, i guess, to better go with the new black instrument plate.

I found another black spoked Nardi on Craigslist. Kid I bought it from for $100 had it on a JDM Honda and needed some money. Just like the original without the Ferrari stamp. I use it and keep the original tucked away. I have some vintage Momo's and a Prototipo that look very nice in the car but somehow the Nardi just fits.

I took the Momo off my QV and put this same Nardi on. I just like the look better. Click on my garage and take a look

Cool...more history from the Dr. I went ahead and bought a current Nardi off eBay. Hope it fits. Looks exactly like mine. The measurements seem correct. I went for perforated leather and red thread.

P.S. Tommy, the original spokes are actually very dark blue...

There are actually two Nardi styles that look almost identical at first glance - off the car.

The difference are the screws and horn button. The correct Ferrari style has recessed screws and a horn button very similar to the Momo from the carbed cars and the Momo on the 83-89 models. It is kinda hard to describe here but the screws on the other do not set flush and the horn button has a large ring that (I think) covers the screws so they don't look odd sticking up. Sorry, I'm doing this from memory but the differences are along those lines I just described. Otherwise the wheel and spokes are the same which is why you would normally not notice the difference when the wheel is not mounted.

If the Nardi you got from eBay doesn't have the recesses for the screws, it isn't "correct". Close but not the same one.

There should be a date on the back of the spokes. What is it on that one?

Looks like anodizing which would potentially start looking blue-ish after years. The rear quarter window louvers on my 308 were turning that color too.

Tommy, the pic with blue spokes was just an example. My original that I refurbished is in the first post....that has the numbers 6-5880...the pic above is the new one I bought for grins to use as a driver :)

Anyone put a dished wood Nardi on?

    I was thinking about it.

The dished wood...or wood in general, is beautiful, but not sure it would look right...

My car is Marrone MET w/ Creme.

It might look good with that color combo.
