I don't get the sense that Ferrari will ever get the strategy right this year...

I don't think Elton is that good around Monaco, i know that Kimi isn't a big fan, still he won there. I would put my money on Seb.

For the time being, the weather predictions are for "nice and sunny, not too hot; no rain expected during the practice, qualis and race days".

"The oldest driver to start in F1 55 year-old Louis Chiron who finished sixth in the 1955 Monaco GP. He is is also the only Monaco native to have won a race at his home circuit.
Curiously, Chiron missed the first ever Monaco race as he had committed to race the Indianapolis 500 instead."

    Sounds familiar...

prior to Barcelona upgrades, I'd say yes easily.

Merc S3 with their new suspension was scary fast, however....

Poorer Red Bull means Monaco chance not like 2016, says Newey - F1 - Autosport

Red Bull cannot expect a boost from the Monaco Grand Prix's lower power demands and must 'get its act together' before Formula 1 reaches Singapore in September, says Adrian Newey.

Last year Red Bull took Monaco pole with Daniel Ricciardo and was set for victory before a pitstop error, in one of the team's most competitive performances of the 2016 season.

Newey said that was down to a chassis advantage that offset Renault's engine performance deficit to Mercedes, and Red Bull is no longer in that position.

He fears missing the opportunity to shine in Monaco means Red Bull will be on the back foot until F1's next low-speed street track in Singapore.

"Last year we had a good chassis," Newey told Autosport.

"So at Monaco, which is less engine dependent, we were able to shine.

"This year we haven't got the best chassis.

"So it won't be the opportunity it was last year.

"I guess we've got to get our act together between now and Singapore and use that as the next chance."

Well they have out-foxed Merc twice this year on strategy (Aus/Bahrain) and probably would have done it again in China except for Sauber incident.

We have a 50:50 chance. No other teams are in the hunt. Even Kimi might show up for this one. Scuderia for the win!!!!

Button wins a rain-soaked race. Finishes behind the safety car.

Since Max has crashed out of every Monaco he has entered, the first thing Seb and Kimi have to do is stay clear of the kid.

Fingers crossed ! I was at the 2001 race and jumped up with joy when Montoya retired, momentarily forgetting we were on Montoya's boat and drinking his beer !! :D Was a great day for the Scuderia

Ferrari has proven to be strong so far. I don't see why we cannot win this weekend.

Also the long wheel base of the Mercedes should be a disadvantage here.

But who knows. Monaco is often unpredictable.

You mean when Hamilton hit the wall necessitating a pit stop then got incredibly lucky when the safety car came out which resulted in him not losing any time and then being on better fuel strategy and able to pit later when it was the right time to switch to drys?
