    Hello Folks,

So, I have a 2008 GranTurismo that is my good weather daily driver. Last spring I removed the headlight control / trim and buttons as the round buttons popped thru the trim (broken posts on the back side). Since I had it out and it was starting to get sticky I figured I would just refinish it too.

Given I'm a shoe maker whose kids have no shoes :) this took a long time to complete - just too busy to work on my own stuff.

So, we finally got it done about a week ago and I installed it Friday. I was planning to refinish all my parts this past winter but just did not have time.

Ironically, another customer just sent us almost every part from a GT so we will post the after photos here in a few weeks :)

What does all this cost and what's the turn around time?

I'm curious as to why this seems to mainly happen with Italian cars. I have had this happen in an Alfa 164 and the dashboard in my Abarth seems to get especially tacky when in a direct hot sunlight. Have never experienced this in American or German makes. What makes Italian plastics behave like this? THX...

BMW's don't get sticky, they peel (al least mine). Happens to Audi, Porche, Benz and a bunch of others. Not just Italian. And, it happens to TV remotes, computer mice, etc.

My 2009 Granturismo S with F1 is starting to get this disease. It's already driving me nuts. Cool video on the etching. Can you do the F1 related buttons as well?

If they are hard plastic, yes. If rubber, no.

They are the same as the same year Ferrari F1 buttons.

Yes, but some of those are hard plastic and others are rubber.

Is Maserati and Ferrari still making interior parts that get sticky? In 2018?

    Outstanding work Dave!

Makes me want to buy a Maserati just to fix the interior pieces with you...

Thank you, Robb. I hope to do my own GT this winter - 2013 and it's already sticky. Since I replaced the headliner, I've already refinished the coat hangers and dome light parts ;)
