I'm sure there are better qualified people than me here but I'm pretty sure they are 360 Challenge wheels. I first noticed them on one of Stephane's/Scaledetail's Mondials, one of his many (haha!!), and absolutely loved the look on the car/that it gave to the car. Makes the car look so much more "aggressive" (and more "contemporary" too).

I just got my powdercoated Cromodoras back with new TRX's!

Next to that, I have mounted the muffler and had to make some custom adjustments to get it fitted. The engine is a Mondial 8 engine at the moment and the exhaust mounting locations differ from a Mondial QV chassis. In order not to alter the chassis, I made a couple of brackets with rubber to attach the muffler to.

    Some things I learned:
-The exhaust manifolds are not the same as the QV units, the orientation of the triangles is different, what makes that you cannot mount a Mondial QV muffler to M8 manifolds!
    - The mounting brackets on a M8 exhaust are not the same as for a Mondial QV muffler!
    - The mounting springs (see http://redbaycars.com/onewebmedia/MondialT/Deel4/Ferrari_Mondial_T_Bracket_Pad_Muffler_1.jpg) cannot be used on a M8 muffler.

And one last thing: the exhaust of a 308GTSi cannot be mounted on a Mondial although they look exactly the same. The problem is that the space between the exhaust tips is 5cm wider on a 308 GTSi exhaust than thise on a Mondial 8 exhaust...

I'd prefer not having the aftermarket sunroof in there nor that kind of wheels

Final things to do: remove the front bumper and lights, front wings and windscreen wipers. That's for tomorrow!

Stripping the car goes well, just finished taking off the bumper and front pop-up lights. Next thing is to take off the front wings and spoiler.

I haven't seen much rust so far... touching wood... Only some surface rust on a few spots and dirt here and there. There are a lot of signs of the original gold color, mostly underneath the rubbers, below the windshield and on the inside of the doors.

Thanks to my good friend Kinnie, I got hold of the original color schemes and found the original color of my '82 Mondial. That's the 103C

One of the last things was to remove the rear windshield. Apparently, the previous owner repainted the car without removing it, so you can still see the original color underneath.

The windscreen is perfect and shows no signs of delamination. The rubber was destroyed while taking it out, but fortunately I have a spare one :)

The car is now ready to go to the bodyshop.

The ceiling appears to be in cardboard instead of glass fibre! This was so with the early QV's. Makes cleaning very difficult!

Hey Fella, while you are in the trunk you seriously should take the sound proof material out! I bet it's causing all kinds of corrosion there, also remove the vertical fiber panel and get the sound proof material out of there too. This is a terrible design flaw on these cars and unnecessary.
    Regards Bell
Oh show us what you find there......

I carefully tilted that fibre panel and had a look behind it. Nothing really worth mentioning, all looked OK.

This morning, the car was transported to the body shop , 2 streets from my place :)
I'll have a look at the work in progress on a regular basis and post some stuff here.
