    80lbs for $4k doesn't seem too bad.

I love this thread. One day I'll be using it as a guideline. :)

Very nice doors! Are those made in Germany? If they're the ones I think they are they're expensive and build time was an issue last time I spoke to a friend of mine there. I think he waited a year for a set.

    Making some progress.

The body shop invoice made me contemplate eating a bullet. Apparently sanding revealed pinholes in the sealer which they had to chase through multiple coats of paint.

And, while they look very nice and most people would not tell the difference, I can tell that the carbon material is so thin that when block sanding, the bonded mounts behind the thin material kind of transferred through to the surface? Not sure else how to explain it but lets just say they don't block sand as flat as when they are 1/4 inch thick fiberglass.

I will say that I like the absence of side marker lights.

When I first installed the Capristo I thought there was enough clearance between it and the rear heat shield. Guess not. Apparently it grew enough to wear right through that part. I fiberglassed it up and replaced the heat reflective material with Zircoflex 3. Expensive stuff I bought for the air boxes, guess I'll order some more.

Jim - is the front bumper wider than OEM? Or I'm I just seeing things? (Very possible)

My 95 bumper has vents. I think only the very early 94-95 built cars had no vents.

Actually I recall looking this up - late 95's had them - probably near the transition to 96.

Lmao, thanks! :D The good news is I can always bolt the old parts on if I want it to be 200lbs heavier again.

The bumper is wider than original. Why I don't know. Were the kevlar Challenge bumpers wider? (not sure what he pulled the mold from).

    Thanks Robb

Ok, she is finally back together.

    Total weight reduction is........ 212lbs.

    Baseline weight 3199, now 2987

Had to spin down the coil overs a lot. I think it ended up 12 turns front 10 turns rear.

Ride height is now (measured from center of lower control arm bolt)

    6.4in front

    7.5in rear.

Nearly out of threads on the front shocks so couldn't go much lower even if I wanted to without changing springs.

I only drove it a few miles but feels great! Love the seats and overall feel of the car.

Still have to swap out the steering wheel from the 456 to early 355 but so far really happy with the result :)

Basic rundown again of what was changed-

-Front and rear bumpers replaced with carbon. No side marker lights. Euro corner lights.
    -Antigravity lithium battery
    -titanium wheel bolts
-removed metal support structure from behind dashboard
    -removed airbags/non airbag steering wheel
-Installed carbon 550 seats with fixed mounts (no sliders)
    -removed washer/wipers
-removed trunk liner and tool kit (naked 'frunk')

That is awesome - I bet it really feels alive now!

When will you take it to the strip for a quarter mile run?
