Hey David, I think I've seen you around town in the Ford. How many '32 Fords can there be in Pittsburgh?

Possible, I put 5000 miles on one last year. I know of about 7-10 around WPA. Come out to Scott Park near Heidelberg May 17, our club once a year car show. Don't bring the Pizza wagon. 72 and older cars only. Repainting my last 32 as I type. I don't think I will have it at the show in time. See me in the food dept. (that's a real joke on the club) My wife said the only thing I do in the kitchen is eat.

Probably more than there were in 1933, given the subject of this thread.

As to #0900, we can say with almost
certainty that all three of the 0900
cars are the original car !

Someone who is close to DP could ask him this: did you copy 412P/330P4 chassis before 1969-1970 or just when 0003/0846 and 0900 were in process of being built.

Piper says first race for 0900 with Pironi in 1982.
Incorrect 0900 was seen in France in 1980 at a classic car race and tagged in a period photo (france) with 0900

There is no mention of the chassis number 0900 in the 1987 auction description. It's described as DP2. Vaccari made the original P4 chassis for Ferrari. There was Amerigo Manicardi who was the Sales Director for Ferrari but I can't find any reference to a Manicardi e Mesuri who made chassis for Ferrari other than who is said to have made the Piper P4 chassis DP2 by David Piper himself.

As Doug Nye said: DP2/0900 was the first P4 by piper ready in 1979
    His 2nd frame 0003/DP3 finished after 79; early 80s

Does anybody know of the chassis makers Manicardi e Mesuri who David Piper said made the original P4 chassis for Ferrrari?

Here is an album of pictures I took at Piper's workshop more than 20 years ago of the cars we call 0900 and the incomplete 0900a. Feel free to examine, contrast and compare with JG's car and the no-question P4s.

Looking at those pictures of the so called "0900" there are similarities to replica DP0003 (James Glickenhaus's P4 replica chassis that he wrongly claims is 0846) and differences to a real P4 chassis.
