Nah, I think it looks great but for that money, buying new...a PTS Mexico blue 911 GT3 manual. Hell I'd even take flappy paddle if needed. I'm not really a porsche-file either...

+1 the true analysis unbiased by a maker or magazine will come to fore as always when they cannot be bought. The initial lack of badge cachet wont matter. The NSX appears to offer an incredible driving experience.
Holy crap. Is that US sales or world wide? Was this required of all Acura dealers, or dealer choice? Most dealers probably haven't sold a single unit.
Sorry, beg to differ. If you own a point, great. But I have 2 close friends and one acquaintance with Acura points, and every single one *****es about the configurator. 3 dealer principles. Acura told them at national meeting before launch, that's what they heard. If the special tools etc were in a package I don't know. But every single time these guys visit the point, they get pissed off at Acura again. And all 3 have average of 10 points each, not small points. 4 years ago they'd work me. Now I never bring it up because these guys get annoyed and we have better stuff to talk about. Can't wait for the Spider from Ironman 3. Coming in 2022. [emoji23]

Time will tell! I pick up my new Hatchback Sport this week! Previous Honda, was the best car I ever owned for 16 years. I had four liquid cooled VWs. this last one is terrible!
The looks let the new NSX down in a big way. Why is a cute young girl picked to design the car? I don't know of any supercar designed by a woman previously? I've been in a lot of art classes, I've never even seen a woman draw a doodle of a car while just having some fun. Seems Like an odd pick for the Head Designer?

Thing is, it's an Acura. No matter how you cut it it's not an exotic. Just a high priced sports car from a manufacture of average cars. For the money there are too many better choices.
The same could be said of the Ford GT, but they had no trouble selling them. Ford is a rental car and fleet car manufacturer like GM and others, but are capable of making great machines. I can definitely see why some people are turned away from the car as it's wearing a blue oval and for Acura/Honda due to the same...I think their price-point is off for what it provides. If they could come down to the GTR territory in terms of pricing, they would have no problem selling them. I think the Ford is priced right for what you get, but not the NSX.
Ford no trouble selling Ford Gt. It's base off of the legendary Ford gt40 which is itself a legend for beating Ferrari at Le mans. That in itself makes it quote desirable for many. The original won Le Mans serveal times. The fact that they remade the Ford gt in 2000s and that one was selling great even it was limited to say 100s I think might be due to the fact it was a modern remake rather than unlike the new Honda NSX. Meaning potential buyers and new customers knew that Ford would make make sure that the newest GT wasn't going to be bad at all especially with the looks being simliar. The trouble is that I think the Nsx is way too different compared to it's predecessor. The NSX was known for simpleness. The new one is I think is too different and is more like other cars of today. That and the pricing. Ford gt can sell it cause of its racing heritage and is not much different compared to it's predecessor. Different engine compared to both which had v8s. If Senna couldn't sell the first gen NSX, even God will struggle to sell this generation of nsx. It has a massive disadvantage given the badge it wears. The only way to overcome that is huge investment upside potential - of which it has zero. In part this is due to the failure of the f1 engine which eliminates any hint of marketing halo. It's a dud.

This would sound like a sexist pig statement except for one little fact.... Its true. There is nothing about the styling that grabs one. Its a "Me Too" design. The only technological milestone is the two motors up front with independant torque vectoring most people don't even know about this. Would I buy one ? Certainly not new because of the massive depreciation headed its way. Used down the road ? It may be a maintenance nightmare because of all the technology. Till then I'm happy with my Generation 1. A milestone car.
Tell that to Mercedes. Every time their amg gt pace car goes by or the amg cls, or amg e55 wagon, they are making sales. They sound great and look very good out there. Mercedes has a huge display of their cars as part of the main entry experience that every ticket holder has to walk by on the way to their seats. I'd be interested in the AMG cars based on the exposure of the cars used on track. I also link those to the Mercedes F1 team. I don't have a lot of confidence in Honda after seeing the way they are incapable of fixing this current debacle. Robb
First of all, it's not only F1 failures; just look at Indy. Engines are failing left and right there too. But all of that has probably little to do with Honda's fall from grace. I used to be a Honda guy, but had more and more problems, and their cars were uglier and uglier, until I had enough. And they're even uglier now. The first NSX was an abomination aesthetically speaking. Not unlike the also ugly as hell Porsche 959, but at least both of those cars were true breakthroughs. The new one looks like a lady car, just like a new beetle. Glad to see a woman leading the design, but as mentioned, it was a big-time fail IMO. To be fair, she was probably directed to that end, not her choice entirely. Designers are rarely given free reign, with the possible exception of rare exotics like the McLaren F1, Porsche Carrera GT, etc. Same crap with engineers. Too many restrictions to do what they'd like. The NSX sounds like crap (as many others), weighs too much, it's AWD, it's a freaking hybrid (I also wonder when that damn fad is going to end), and way too expensive. I wouldn't buy one for $150K, so don't know what Honda was thinking. They should have gotten their act together before coming up with such car. Curious what they're going to do with all of those things just sitting there.
I think its everything. But that's an easy answer. My opinion is the real problem for the NSX is it doesn't have a reason for being. Ferrari makes Ferraris. And the Ford GT is really a world on to itself and features a configuration that has actually won races and is intended to be sold in very limited volumes. You can still see the connection to the prior GT and the GT40. The world is just so different these days and the NSX doesn't have middling quality of the Europeans to compare favorably against. Also the difference between the high end and the low end in all facets of life has grown. And there are an increasing number of ultra high net worth people. The NSX didn't aim for these people. Additionally the Acura brand was a lot more flexible back in 1990. After decades of forgettable cars, its hard to say "here we are, we make sports cars". Guess what- no one cares.
