Hahah oh the comments-definitely gave me good laughs..but yes I won't sit on here and write novels bc I didn't get myself in this position of buying exotics by spending All my time gossiping...there is a show goosip girls much more entertaining than us..NOW back to the car..I will guarentee no one on this thread will buy that car..do your due diligence and thank me later...mr baker w a quick inquiry to mr Google will yield you scary info..this isn't his first rodeo.

On a side note..For the very few that aren't his alias name(You aren't fooling anyone) that think they are 'cool' to start pounding your chest from behind a screen..grow up. You are making a fool of yourselves..I also don't see anyone else here that was willing to give him a check for $180,000k..when it's your money you have the right to do what you want..aka test drive or not..have TRUTHFUL info about the car..or not...ETC. But I'm not even getting into that!! And initially this was literally to just warn other REAL BUYERS to just do their due diligence..period.

458 is a beautiful car-I mean almost purchased it without questioning the history of the car for crying out loud(emotional move) but very glad it was questioned...because that was when the issues/aggression arised from the selling party..

again few questions about the CAR/history posed at mr baker..still waiting for answers.. as this is a car enthusiast forum not a gossip venue...

To clarify car being discussed is:
    VIN:ZFF67NFA1B0180273
    2011 458 Italia
    From: Exotic motors Midwest
    It has vellano rims CURRENTLY

    Let me copy/paste the questions

1)After I questioned the carfax, have you had it changed in the last two weeks since my post?
Who owned this car last 3yrs as he doesn't come up as an owner? (It's not really a 2 owner car correct?)

2)And why remove the car from your site and now back with higher asking price..is this related to my first question?
And again you taking 2 weeks to respond related to the carfax at all?

3)Will you be ok with ST LOUIS MOTORCARS doing a ppi?

STICK TO THE CAR...this isn't gossip girl ladies!!

As this is a CAR FORUm I'm excited on closing on this car..very excited!! Will supplement the other exotics well! And after driving it I'm even more convinced nobody on this thread will put their money where their mouth is and buy the one we're talking about!! This one is Clean as a whistle with a DOCUMENTED history..

If I read this correctly 3000 would have solved the problem. When purchasing a ~ 200 k rig what's 3 grand in the scheme of things. Sounds like buyers remorse to me especially if the rig in question was all that it was supposed to be. I'm sorta dumbfounded. Best , Kirk.

You and the OP seem to be the ones pounding your chest and the seller walked away from you guys. Later you change the story? I am done with this thread and still side with the seller. I would have walked away from you guys as well.

wow, I've never bought a car without driving it first, including my 458 (not that I didn't trust the dealer, but come one, if you offer to let my drive your ferrari, I'm going to say yes). :)

Exactly! One can deduce a lot from a test drive especially if car is not brand new (rattles vibrations tires brakes, rotors.tranny etc) personal preference I guess...and @cigarmanz deal did not fall thru for 3k...the seller just exhibited odd behavior and left..later to find out he wasn't forthcoming with the history of said car regarding previous owners etc..on side note see u live in Sarasota! I used to live around there still kept place as a vaca spot..got my lambos services at victors Lambo dealership in Sarasota! Beautiful city!

FOS is as legit as they come. I would never need to test drive one of their cars. The only time I would test drive a car if I was testing out the model specifically (458,488 f12,etc) and that's what the test cars are for.

Also I've bought and sold tons of my exotics for over 10 years and not once have I done a test drive nor have I let anyone test drive mine. After all, if someone crashed it you are now dealing with a damaged car with massive depreciation hit and zero recourse if he or she backed out of the sale. Guess that's just me. To each their own.

So Ruffinit - are you then claiming that you car was in excellent condition void of any of the damage? You're saying that his mention of bumper damage is totally without merit whatsoever? That there is either zero damage at all or that you were totally forthcoming of said damage and he was completely fabricating this as a point of contention? Yes or not on that matter will suffice or provide us with photo evidence of how wrong he is because that seems to be the stumbling block clearly pics or evidence would help your cause

Hi:) I'm not sure how closely you read but the car in question for trade was pulled from the deal..hence non factor...the seller pulled out because "feelings were hurt" It was after the fact I realized he was not forthcoming with the history of the 458...it's really not complicated..if your truely interested I'll PM you my number and we can chat...

Again I'll ask was your car in excellent condition as you supposedly claimed or was there damage that was not disclosed? That's the question I asked and was dismissed just now. If in fact it was "not as you had portrayed it to be" your credibility was lost with the seller regardless of your later opting to change the deal conditions all else is "after the fact"... and yes i read the posts.

When was the SUV pulled from the deal? After he arrived with the 458 or before?

Ruffinit - in your initial post you seemed to have interjected quite a lot of emotion and ambiguity into your post with little detail. When EMMW has a rather succinct and detailed post giving his side of the story he did so with little emotion and lots of claimed facts giving his version versus questionable emotion. In your subsequent few posts noticed did you directly address ANY of his claims directly, stating that "you later pulled the car out completely" still eludes to the fact that you did misrepresent the car in the first place... and the fact that you clearly avoided answering that question when I asked you that direct question is elusiveness at best.

Do you not see how confused and disappointed EMMW might be taking time in his day, his sales person's day, to arrange the deal, load his car, drive it to you, then find out that he has either been directly lied to or "conveniently misrepresented"? He didn't do this hoping for a confrontation, he did this to appease a client and future customer. This meeting began with a lie, whether intentional or not it was still a lie on the RR. You're asserting that he either drove to you with hopes of a confrontation OR that something minor, or completely made up, triggered his irrational behavior and he was completely unreasonable.

Your initial post was full of emotion and loose on facts, your retorts never addressed the detailed retort from EMMW, you avoided answering my direct and clear question. Do you not see how from this side it looks pretty questionable?

If it were you would you not be heavily disappointed and put into a bad situation? What happened after that and how it was handled is likely emotional on both sides whether that car was removed or not doesn't change that lie/deception. You were excited to get YOUR Ferrari, he was excited to sell a car and get a hopeful future client, you broke that trust whether intentionally or not and you're still avoiding owning that in any way which leads me, likely others, to doubt that what followed was being forthcoming. EVEN IF you kindly pulled the car and offered money doesn't negate that clear betrayal, failing to mention that in your initial post makes you look as though you were trying to hide the critical fact that is quite important to the scenario as posted, avoiding when I asked makes it look as if you either don't care about it.

Not really interested in PM'ing, this is a forum which you posted a thread for maximum value so this is where it belongs as I'm not buying or sell a car here.

I'm done, you're done. I doubt you'll process what I wrote nor does it really matter

Long time lurker, first time poster checking in. First off this seems like a great forum filled with many knowledgeable people. Having personally owned and recently traded in an older Range Rover on an exotic, I feel like I’ve been through something similar. At this point a 7-8 year old Range Rover is worth about as much as a new Honda Civic. It’s a car people buy drive to daily drive and put through the daily grind of life, not to keep in the garage and look at as many of you probably do with Ferrari’s.

When I traded mine recently the dealer seemed pretty well aware of that and asked the right questions regarding my trade in to put a fair number on it. Had they not done that I would’ve probably ended up in a situation like the OP and had to pull my Rover out of the deal as I would’ve just said it looks good for an 8 year old car with 60K miles and maybe the dealer would’ve disagreed.

Accusations of misrepresenting the Rover seems dumb, the dealer came and looked at the car and assessed it. If they didn’t like it, it should’ve just been pulled from the deal, which is what it sounds like the OP wanted to do. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve flown out to buy a used car that upon arrival I thought were described improperly. That’s a risk when traveling to buy a car with 50K+ miles on it. What I consider perfect, somebody else might consider “rough”. With due diligence that can hopefully be avoided. I assume in this case that Danny asked for multiple pics to asses the Range Rover before driving down or asked specific questions about the vehicle rather than just asking if it’s in good condition.

The real matter at hand here is that a dealer may be selling a misrepresented $200K car. I’m currently in the market for a 458 and this one caught my eye (I actually found this thread while googling the vin). Where has this Ferrari been the last 3-4 years? From what I’ve gathered it hasn’t had an owner and this dealer is saying they just got it. Why does it have aftermarket wheels with no markings/brand name? Where are the originals? Has it been serviced in the last 4 years? Is a PPI at St Louis Motor cars allowed? We as a community of high end car enthusiasts should be protecting each other from shady dealers. Nobody wants to see anyone else get burned.

A quick google search of this car and dealer will not only bring you to this thread, it will take you to many many people with similar complaints. I recommend everyone do their due diligence before spending this kind of money on a car. Nobody wants their dream Ferrari purchase to turn into a nightmare.

Why isn't the $180,000 Ferrari held to, at the LEAST, the same accountability as your holding the $25,000Range Rover? Your missing the fact that the deal didn't fall through because of the Range Rover..it was a non factor..take it if you want or leave it..it fell through because of the FERRARI history..which for some odd reason you are refusing to even acknowledge that aspect..................

Of note..the serious questions regarding the car have not been answered by Danny..under any of his screen names..no accountability...sad

I guess there are 2 sides to every story. Dealer seems very professional. Buyer...not so much.
