I am having a bear of a time figuring out how to change the clutch cable on a S1 Europa with those molded in seats. Has any body done this before? It also has a under tray and I do not know how to remove the rear trailing arms to change the bushings? Were these S1 cars glued together after assembly of the mechanics? Thats a good question, the scoops do not appear to be added to the car, I mean to say they appear stock. I have not seen another with these side scoops. J
I believe the early S1 cars were in fact glued together, I have changed the clutch cable by attaching a string and fishing it through however it was on a 74 which might be easier. Do you have a shop manual? If not let me know as I have a cd somewhere in my garage.
Always loved the Europa. There was a black JPS in my neighborhood. Oddly? First time I saw it was when coming out of a James Bond movie as a kid... Unfortunately, along the lines of what someone else mentioned? I'm 6'3" tall, with size 13 feet. Don't think I can play safely with the pedal box.
Jason,Thanks for the response. The car does appear to be glued together after all the mechanicals were in place and the seat is glued in molded part of the tub. I tried to show that in poor photo. The seat padding is removed, but that is a photo of the 'seat' of a S1 Europa. So that bracket in front of the seat behind the carpet on the S2/S3 cars that holds the clutch cable shroud is actually inside the glued in seat of a S1. I am afraid I have to cut a access hole in the seat and want to conform with someone before I do this. I have a shop manual for the later cars and it does not cover the S1 very well. You need to come by and look at this weird car. Very much a prototype.
