My 69 4.7 has two 60mm chrome pipes and they are spaced 12mm apart
I was the (short term) owner of a very nice Ghibli, car #616. I still have what I believe to be the original alternator, a Lucas. How do i verify that info? thanx steve
As far as I know, Ghibli alternators were all supplied by Bosch, although some of the other switches and such were indeed by Lucas. Regards. Mark.
Yes all Bosch for the engine accessories. The rest used Ducellier first too (including so electric windows switches, and motors for headlights popup and wipers). Then replaced by Lucas.
One of the product numbers most often misquoted are those for the Ghibli spyders. For years it has been said that 125 spyders were produced, of which only 25 were SS. Well ... apparently this is not true. According to Fabio Collina the correct numbers are: 4.7 = 83 (65%) 4.9 (SS) = 45 (35%) For a total of 128 cars. Ivan
4.7 litre: Total of 82 cars built (56 manual, 26 automatic) 4.9 litre SS: Total of 46 cars built (39 manual, 7 automatic)
I've just gone through my own notes and found this : In "L'Histoire de la Maserati", a little book published in 1984 (so, only 10 years after the Ghibli prod. stopped...) by the factory itself, they mentionned : " Turin 11/1966 : Presentation, Spyder in Turin 11/1968, (Geneva, 03/1969) 1967 : 90 coupés, 1968 : 280 coupés, (prod. total of the Fatory for the year : 733 units) 1969 : 295 coupés + 27 spyders, (prod. total : 594) 1970 : 218 coupés + 68 spyders, (prod. total : 706) 1971 : 168 coupés + 34 spyders, (prod. total : 550) 1972 : 147 coupés + 22 spyders, (prod. total : 557) 1973 : 7 coupés; (prod. total : 738) Total : 1205 coupés + 151 spyders. (or 1.149 according to the sources). "
FYI, Just put my Ghibli alternator on eBay. Originally from my car 115-616. here's the listing Item ID: 152608903642 thanx steve
Hello, I don't suppose anybody knows where I can find the aluminum cap that goes over the tip valve on the master cylinder? Mine has a small crack and is corroded around the sealing surface. I think they were used on military Rover 101 master cylinders too, but I'm hoping on something more common also. Thanks, Dan Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Concorso Italiano is having a special display to celebrate the Ghibli's 50th anniversary. https://concorso.com/call-for-cars/ Who is planning on attending with his/her Ghibli ? It would be great to have a nice grouping of cars. Ivan
