Mr. Crall, is a very knowledgeable mechanic or technician. I ignore which of the two he is.

If you ask a question, be prepared for anything that might come your way.

I do not always agree with him, but if I do not, simply let it slide. It is not as if he is insulting me or offending me.

Once I asked him about "friendly advice" on a plug and play V8 Ferrari transplant in a Dino, I will not quote him as I would have to look for it, but the bottom line, he replied: "why don't you buy a Corvette", when he simply could have replied something more creative or adequate, as that was not my question, and the Dino is MY car, so I was not asking for his permission or approval.

Only 'know how', is all I requested. Instead I got back an offensive reply.

I have survived bullets and way much more severe issues, so Mr. Crall is inconsequential to me whether he says yea or nay.

To be perfectly honest, that is why I do not talk politics or religion unless I know the person very well.

I am not going to allow Mr. Crall, or for that matter anybody, insult me or think less of me. I just don't care. Only my family are afforded that luxury, always.

My recommendation: just let it go, who cares, and after all it is only an opinion, not the Bible or the Ten Commandments.
He is not Einstein or even close, but don't read his comments if you do not like them, and appreciate them if you do. Period.

I found it a waste of time to start picking on someone who thinks so highly of himself,
you will never change the character nor the 'persona'. Just like the "Soup Nazi".

Please keep on keeping on, Mr. Crall :)

    Regards, Alberto

That is, what was under the paint, Bondo and confetti, on the nose of my Dino.

When it will be redone, I will put it on e-bay. Cool, no?

David, when I bought the car, it was painted, engine out, a few boxes, looked like a 7.5, decent.
I repainted it, the 'Earl Scheib quicky' when I got it home, while it waited for the clothes to come off. It was a bit awkward to look, not to mention engineless, no fun.

Cars, once you remove the clothes you might find something not quite as was expected:)
But, then it was to be expected...not quite as much, but pretty bad.

Dino tended to be nose and rear damaged mostly by parking, when they used to be parked just anywhere, and they were not really sought after or cared much about.

Imagine who did the welding on my car, a bit of Frankenstein, no? What year?

My front needs full replacing from the wheels to the nose, only the bottom part, well, for the most part..

So don't worry, not my damage...

Check the story out if you like, search #03274

    Regards, Alberto

Having spent the bulk of my career on Wall Street and eaten at the Soup Nazi so many times, I just love hearing a reference to the most aggressive vendor of a good quick lunch in midtown.

What technical advice? Most of the time we learned, that we have no clue, are doing most things wrong, but not why and more rarely how to perform correct.
Now Brian seems to be miffed. Little boys behaviour.

The only thing I can think about saying about Brian - and please Mr. Crall, do not take this the wrong way - he has gotten more civilized in his years posting here. Maybe it was the move to Texas. ;)

What exactly IS a "Rifle Driver"? I have a rifle and I have a screw driver. I have rifled through papers and I know UPS Drivers, but I don't know no "rifledrivers".
Now "peniswrinkle" I understand, and may I offer "spunkbubble".

...and call on the OP to make a public apology to Brian.

This thread is out of line and reflects poorly on all of FChat - myself included.

I apologise to Brian for my involvement... in that my condemnation should have come sooner.

    Cheers,
    Vincenzo

Brian has always been extremely helpful to me. I have PM'd him on numerous occasions, and I do my best to only ask questions after I've done my homework - I feel I owe him that respect.

    Here is something:

My young neighbor pulls up in his Alfa, shows me some of the original documentation, and here I find a young B C completing the service ticket on this Italian gem.

I believe a rifledriver is self explanatory.

    One who drives a rifle.

If you're in the army, I'd guess it's any guy with a gun, although it could also be an armored vehicle driver, I suppose.

Based on some of the conversations Brian has had about guns here, I've always thought it meant a sniper, as he seems to be something of a high powered, scoped gun aficionado. However, my father in law, who was a sniper in Korea, didn't seem familiar with the term.

OR IT COULD JUST BE A USER ID WITH NO SPECIFIC MEANING.

    :D

A rifledriver doesn't have to be a rifle driver. It could be a rifled river. That would be a water channel with spiral grooves on the channel bottom to control flow characteristics of the water... well, it could be! ;)

Found it. Very detailed insight indeed. The insults page is also interesting. Bookmarked it for inspiration for our local newspaper comment section :)

Regarding my last post and the PMs I got: This has NOTHING to do with 'rifledriver' (Brian Crall)
    Sorry for being not clear.
