Don't know why people are so reluctant to give prices...I'm sure the guy is asking $30K if not more :(

I just found out I own a Red, 1975 Dino Ferrari Chassis 09606. I was contacted by a PI who was hired to find me after the family of the previous owner passed away and they went to sell the car. The family was told the title they had was not the most recent. They did their due diligence and found it was owned by me. The previous owner was a long time family friend. He took me to get my DL when I turned 16 and let me drive his convertible white Mercedes to my high school graduation in June 1992. On that day he told me he was going to give me a car as a graduation gift. August 1992 my family moved to Texas and I got married and moved to the Northwest Subs of Chicago. Long story short, we all lost contact with Robert. I am now learning he delivered on his promise 25 years later.

Wow that is a cool story! I hope you'll love it and take good care of it. As a new owner you will now need to hang around here to learn about these great cars.

    Gave you a vintage Ferrari?
Have you considered he may not have liked you after all? :)

Welcome and about all I can say is Wow!!! Cool story and congrats on the car. Also condolences on the loss of your friend. Sounds like he was a stand up guy. You'll have to come back here and post when you find out more about the car. You going to keep it? Looks like it's in decent shape and at least being stored in a nice facility.

    Best luck whatever you decide!!

What a great story! The owner clearly cared a great deal about you. I hope you'll put the car right and enjoy it forever. 308GT4s are great driving cars which hopefully will continue to gain value over time.

Keep us up to date on what happens with the car. Lots of us here are in Texas if you need help.

You might get $20-$25k for it but if you can get $68k go for it. That will move the market for sure. If it was me, I would give the car back to the family. The whole story sounds a little strange to me.

Anything close to 68k would be amazing for that

Interesting... so we have a GT4 that sat for years and then when the family tried to sell the car to an fchatter in 2016 they found they did not own the car. Now the true owner who did not know he owned the car comes on to fchat with the same car a year later after being re-united with the car.

I guess Kandi, you need to decide first if you want to sell it or keep it. Either way, probably best to stay around on this site to ensure the best outcome either way. Welcome.

I was severely chastised for asking once. Told that it is in bad taste to talk about prices!!!!!
How absurd. Any way this car is worth way more than 25K all day long....... and as for giving it back to the family......equally absurd.

There are Porsche guys out there who would pay a very decent amount for that equalizer!
I know when I found one for my 944 years ago as it didn't have the equalizer option, and I wanted to fill the space, and it only connects to period Blaupunkts.
