No, I am just European we are used to car like this. Up until the mid 90's no Cars back home or has standard AC. The TR is surprisingly comfortable to be honest, ppl find it hard to believe but it's not much harsher than my 05 cl65...
As far as the bb beautiful car but quicker not sure

A testarossa no problemo! Ive driven a lot of them and boxers.

I plan to test mine against a 512TR, two are friends that I dont think either would object to an acceleration test. Both being 94's, one US spec one Euro.

    Now we're off topic, sorry!

As for the gearboxes breaking, they do suffer failures more than the previous flat 12 cars and when one does, you bite the bullet and fix it. Very expensive repair. To me the Testarossa just isn't a good enough car to accept the financial responsibilities that go along with it. A 512TR absolutely worth it - a great car!

Yes the TR was my dream but I didn't have the extra 70k to get it lol
That being said a well sorted TR with upgraded Diff (from a 512tr) and cluctch from a 575m seen on ricambi should not be that bad...
    Wasn't the bb overheating though?

BB's dont overheat unless theres something wrong with it. Hot in the cabin yes.

The forward gears break, 1st and or 2nd, not just the diff.

Back when Frank Parker posted how TRs were lucky to get $35k a blown diff would cost you more than that, doesn't matter if you just let them sit the timing belts are gonna dry rot, not a good investment car to buy and park, the Lambos Countach don't have that problem the timing belts were a brilliant idea from Ferrari to make the Dealers a ****load of $$ from the service dept, kinda like Ford Diesel pick ups with that $4000 bolt a DIY guy can't get to on the A/C compressor and says screw it I am taking it in LOL

No. 1344 328 GTBs and 6068 328 GTSs, plus One factory-made cabriolet make exactly 7413 328s. You could add the Italian-only "Turbos" (308 GTBs and 828 GTSs), but You still fall far from 16000. Check your sources..

7177 Testarossas made and I think they must weigh on TRs and Ms, you are right. As to the M being the same as the TR, that's another thread. I own one of them and know the other. On a track probably nothing would separate them but their driving characteristics, particularly in the way the engines gain revs, are quite different.

ah i forgot to anorak check myself, sorry sorry sorry.....

ok. not my hyperbolic-for-dramatic-effect 16000 328's, probably close to 16000 308+328 then. sue me.

as for the differences between a 512m and a 512tr, they are few and subtle, almost to be non existent, except to those who paid the premium to have the plexi covered headlights, the incongruous round tail lights on an otherwise 'square' car, etc ..... ;)

to each his own.....thats the beauty of this hobby :)

and singer, please re-read my post.....i did say IF somebody chose a 328 over a 512tr at the SAME PRICE, then they were a fool. and despite the fact that i like the 328, i will stand by my statement all day every day.

I disagree; A 3x8 for $65-75K might be a good driver... I'd really wonder about the condition of a TR in that price range.

ah yes, i had not thought of the two at a LOW price....(i also did say a 512tr and not a TR plain).

but i take your point....at this price level, a 328 is probably a better bet than a needy TR.

As far as can be ascertained, as There is still some doubt about the numbers of carbed 308 GTBs (+ or - 50 cars):
    308s: 12149 + 300 2 litre atmospheric 208 + 687 208 Turbos (Italy only) = 13136 "308" of all variants
    328: 7413 + 1136 Turbos-Intercooler (Italy only) = 8548
    Grand total all 208, 308, 328 and "Turbos" = 21684.

I am always surprised by threads like this. I have always loved the TR's. Had a 512 and now have a highly modified 87 TR. I love the car and can't imagine why it's value is questioned. The notion that there is any similarity between any version of the TR and a 328 is patently absurd. The fact that there were 7700 TR's may reduce their ultimate collectible value somewhat compared to the 512 or M variants, but it will not effect the long term upward trajectory of TR prices. That is down simply to the flat 12 and the styling.

Honestly I am surprised how comfortable it is. I have a cl65amg and a s550 coupe brand new and although more comfortable and 30 years younger I feel like the Testarossa does more than okay for its age.
I think visibility is great, support is good, those big tyres are also helping the ride comfort...no complaints;)

Supposedly OJ put it up for auction and it sold to an AG called Pacific Coast Motor Sports in 1996 but I can't find any recent info on the car.
