At long last, the shopping/purchasing process (what an adventure that was!) is over; my '07 F430 was delivered yesterday afternoon. I've already put new tires on and installed a fresh battery. Lots more to do over these next few weeks (removal of old PPF, touchup of various minor chips, detailing, application of new PPF, new clutch, new suspension bushings, a new taillight, a few new switches, etc.), but we're off to a good start! Thanks to many of those here who answered my questions and provided inspiration and encouragement. Cheers! Ken Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice buddy. I think I need some suspension bushings as well but love the car so far. It's hard to not drive it every chance you get right
Thanks, guys! I just got back from a 60-mile roundtrip drive to show the car to my buddy and his dad - both serious car guys and racers. It was a fun trip and a good break-in for the new tires! A few new squawks to hunt down: - a mysterious occasional rattle seemingly coming from the area of the leftmost a/c vent - the 'Set' button doesn't work - the gear indicator sometimes blinks, but only in 3rd gear - it stalled a couple of times, once after blipping the throttle in N and once when trying to go slowly uphill in 1st to my driveway (it's getting a new clutch next week, so that might address this issue) Other than that, it's all good so far.
Nice car!!! How did you go about removing the old ppf? I want to do this on my Aston, but I'm afraid it may take paint with it.
Beautiful car!! But don't bother replacing switches...hit up "Dave Rocks" at StickyRX, he will make them BETTER than new.
I haven't done it yet, as it's a project for the weekend. I believe it's just a matter of using a steam wand to loosen the old PPF and then carefully peeling it back. We'll see how it goes...
Yep, I've already been in touch with him. The switches I'm replacing, however, aren't the sticky ones - they're either missing or non-functional.
hi, just got a 08 f430 as well.... 16K miles... just drove it for first time tonight and it seems like something was a bit clunky with the suspension.... is that possibly the bushing issue ? how many are there and how/where do you get new/improved ones to replace with ? I have some 'sticky' switches as well... stickyRx.... do they refurb or clean it up somehow ? the rear light assembly...mine is still ok but is there some mods that can be done in terms of making the bracket more durable or any mods for that ? is there a TCU upgrade to make the F1 shift a bit more quicker ? smoother, etc ? (coming from a DCT, huracan....I knew re: F1 but... ) thanks for help, james R
