The Truth Teller, who wont tell us who he is, what experince besides videos, what car he owns, what his relationship is with Shelby, SPF componant car indutry etc, who claims "not to be an expert". Who shows up from nowhere, suddenly on threads related to one product.

Hearing of an owners actual experience is problem for a Truth Teller.

Either an epic troll and or a shill for spf/shelby.

Last I heard we were a car comunity sharing actual experiences and opinions.

Boxerman, you stated SPF Cobra frames had poor welds. Do you own one or have you ever had one up on a lift and examined the frame?

Here is my actual quote re-cobras, which you reference and I assume you read, Truth Teller.

You can also read a quote from another poster and actual owner in the other thread re- their opinon of a spf cobra on track.

Avoiding telling us who you are yet gain, or any experience you may have.

You can call names but it changes nothing. Commenting on SPF or Shelby Cobra chassis' when you have never actually looked at or tracked one is the definition of trolling.

Please be very specific. What on an SPF Cobra chassis needs to be modified to make it track ready? What part of the chassis will fail if not changed?

same question is fair game then right? What's your experience with these cars? (honest question, as we're shopped them). boxerman's history can be easily read with almost 8K posts. Who are you and what do you do? time to put up or shut up.

I personally have no problem with boxermans quote .. A problem is that the original cars were designed for around 300 hp for the slab side and around 450 hp for the 427..
Most of the cars you see now advertise 600 plus hp which truthfully is not what the cars are designed for
I wanted a more realistic feel and got the slab side with a boss 302 crate motor with about 350 to 390 hp... I suspect the welds are fine for this.

I recently saw a drop dead gorgeous grey 427 Cobra replica made by a company called Factory Five. Looked like the real thing to me.

The contiuation name means nothing to me...
However this looks like a 289 body with slight hip widening.
    Too bad it is fibreglass

Very nice Kit@Engraved_Blueprints. Might look even better with the "Billboard" Goodyear logo's on the tires and maybe a stripe delete.

The SPF chassis is not the same as the CSX chassis. Neither is the suspension.

Nice looking art work! I'm thinking of getting one done for my Ferrari. On this instance though I think you need to check the horse power number, I'm thinking 410 is a little low.

    What are the differences?
Are you saying that for both 289 and 427 styles?

The differences between 427 SPF chassis and 427 Shelby chassis are endless. And eveybody who has seen one (or a picture of the frame) knows that. Shelby is original design (duh!), SPF is square tube. To even try to compare the two is a moot point. Not even the wheels interchange, let alone other suspension parts. Maybe the brakes.

If one had another body, it would be a completely different car. Except for some interior and exterior parts.

Interesting to see for me, as a new member, that "high quality Cobra Replicas" are discussed with so little knowledge.

Kirkham and Shelby 427 are the same chassis, but Kirkham tyipcally has CNC suspension - which does not internchange with tubular suspension. Meaning the mouting points at the (4 inch round tube) chassis are different.

    I did't know that SPF builds a 289. Nor do I care.

I also lost track when CSX1000 to 9000 had been introduced. I think we get CSX10000 to CSX 20000 soon...

Btw, there are a few "boutique" 427 builders in addition who build a stunning replica.

Personally, I would buy a 427 Shelby with ally body (which is apparently built by Kirkham and renumbered as a Shelby). You pay $30.000(?) extra and should get a higher sales price one day when you retire. A street version, with a 428 FE and 350 hp that my wife or kids can buy milk at 7/11.

Anything over 350hp is merely bench racing. Unless you do race it.

I recently purchased a aluminum body continuation Shelby slab side cobra. This car was built by David Wagner a small cobra restorer that also builds a few Shelby or Kirkham alum cars. His build quality is amazing in that they are very close to perfect recreations , he uses the same parts in these cars that he uses in original restorations ... I was able to sell my fiberglass car and purchase this car while at Monterey this year. Amazingly the car I purchased is the same princess blue with red interior similar to as my fiberglass car I purchased last year.
I purchased the car from a large well known cobra collector who had an original that is the same color combination ....>>I will add the pictures when I get a chance . truly an amazing car ... everything about it feels different then the production CSX 8000 cars... very original looking ... including the original gauges and Clock .....etc...
