So I'm just finishing up my major service and fire it up for the first time and find that one of my fuel pressure regulators is leaking. I managed to fix the original leak but now just can't seem to get it to seal.

Does anyone know of a cross reference part that will work for this? I've seen people mention Bosch #0 280 160 564 but this doesn't appear to be available anywhere. Originals are $250 for used or $800 new!

Also, has anyone ever rerouted these as it seems to be about the worst place to have it being right above the manifold?

I just want to start driving her finally and now I'm being held up by this simple little part! But I guess it could be worse.

Thank for the info Dave but this is the same one that I referenced. I've only been able to find one in the U.K. for a reasonable price.

There used to be other brands (Standard) that were similar, but they are out of stock I read. So I am curious as well if there still is an alternative.
Or do we all need to swap to adjustable racing ones in the end?

Ferr Parts came through for me on a new original regulator for $280. They also had used for $150. I'm interested in doing a conversion to adjustable some day but don't have the time to do the proper research to do it now.

This Fuel Pressure Regulator seems very similar to the original, over $700 for original vs. $35, has anyone seen this? the only difference looks like the vacuum nipple is in a different position, doesn't matter which way it's positioned anyway.

You're right, the direction of the vacuum line doesn't matter. What is the psi and what is the thread size? I bought one similar to this just to try and it had the wrong threads and 10 psi too high. You can use an adapter for the threads but the 10 psi is the killer! Motor won't even run on that! It's hard because a lot of these specs are hard to find online for some fpr. What brand and part number is that?

The brand is called Standard Motor Products Part # PR61 The Standard part that fits is PR301 but I don't think Standard makes that anymore. I just spoke to the manufacture, he says the PSI on the PR61 is 30 on the low and 45 on the high, the thread on the actuator is 14 mm by 1.5 mm

The original is marked for 3.9 bar which is 56.5 psi.

The Workshop Manual indicates a rail pressure of 2.8bar.

If it's 2.8 bar that's 40.6 psi, then it should work.

My 1995 F355 Challenge has two older Aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulators installed. They're anodized billet aluminum and made in the United States. Factor in a few fittings at 5-15 dollars each. They're available at Summit Racing.

They still make them and the best. I run them on everything I build along with a AFR gauge for each engine bank to see where I'm at and adjust as needed :)

That looks like a great setup. Unfortunately it’s still right over the headers though.

Just thought I would add something
It seems the ‘fpr’ Opens at about 55 to 60 with no vacuum and reduces in pressure 1psi for every 1psi vacuumed increase

Since those pictures were taken, I've had the fuel lines replumbed, now using a single heavy-duty Aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator - 13101 EFI Regulator, A1000 Injected Bypass - Adjustable...

...with a single fuel pressure gauge on the driver's side as before.

    • Base pressure adjustable from 40-75 PSI.
    • Gasoline, ethanol and alcohol compatible.

I'll get some pictures of the installation in a week or two.

I just ordered 2 of these
What kind of fitting did you use between fuel lines and rails?
I think I found everything else

    Grant,

I'll get pictures and fitting details for you. The car runs much better with just one heavy duty fuel pressure regulator than it did with the two smaller Aeromotive units.

My problem is I was going to try to use OEM fuel lines but I think the fitting they use is a reverse flare in metric?

I am thinking everyone who does this installs new fuel lines to everything

    Ordered everything from summit racing.
My local hydraulics shop created fittings to go from oem fuel lines to 3/8 npt but it’s 4 fittings and looks goofy
