Just arrived at the hotel after an uneventful but very interesting flight. As soon as we were south of Switzerland totally clear skies so great views. Got some excellent pics on the good camera but had to leave the laptop in the aircraft so I'll download them tomorrow. The aircraft performed flawlessly and we landed with near enough 3 hours fuel in reserve. Slight tailwinds pretty much all the way. Now a quick freshen up then downstairs for a well earned beer! Here we are abeam the east coast of Italy, and refuelled and put to bed ready for tomorrow. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
As we were entering the waypoints into the FMS it was obvious we were heading to Greece!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
It was "Inbut" I was worried about but fortunately the door has a good lock and I've awoken in no pain. Today is a big day. Depart 0500 UTC to Hurghada (Egypt) for a pit-stop, then on to Dubai for the night. Weather is pretty clear again so should be fun.
Fun tracking Steve.. He's over the middle of Saudi Arabia at 27,000 feet as we speak.. what a great trip to do! https://www.flightradar24.com/VHFXZ/e4ebbb5
Well that was a hell of a long day. As went well though. I can report there is almost nothing to see flying over Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Relatively easy day tomorrow as we head to Delhi for the night. And, from the "only in Dubai" files, the car that comes to meet your aircraft and take you to the terminal... Now arrived in Mandalay, after Delhi last night. There's not a lot to say from a flying perspective, except the aircraft has performed beautifully. The scenery is virtually impossible to make out due to the constant haze / dust / smog so you can really only see what is directly below you. Delhi was predictably chaotic in a kind of funny way, even though we stayed at the airport hotel so didn't see much at all. When we arrived we tried to convince the ground handlers that I was in fact a famous retired Australian cricketer, but they weren't buying it. Now this is a photo I just had to take. On the way from Delhi - Mandalay today. It's not a picture I'd see anywhere else. Pilots will probably work it out pretty quickly... Image Unavailable, Please Login
