Yes, the parts manual has the typo --- Of course, Ray is well aware of this.....he just continues to use the incorrect word in order to get my goat --- which works every time
David- Well, of course they measure angolar speed for some ECU somewhere, what else would they do? 90 degs of angol in x milliseconds to tell how fast those parts are rotating. Taz Terry Phillips
Once every 10 miles? Is that good? Seriouslyness, it not safe. What if you going on freeway onramp or passing a big rig and the car pops into neutral? Get it repaired right, and don't use windex
My issue was not with Roy --- it was with one of his salesman. No one (other than Roy and myself) is privy to the "offline" discussions Roy and I had directly. In the end, we both walked away with no hard feelings and with mutual respect. .......yet another topic of which you don't have all the facts --- but somehow feel compelled to spout off about derisively...... Don't you have a pet you can kick or something? Seriously, I don't understand the purpose of chiming in and essentially calling folks idiots. And, yeah when you do so..... expect a retort! Then be a gentleman, call it even, and let it go There are more diplomatic ways to disagree and express your concerns --- differences of opinion are always welcome --- being rude and belligerent never is
I like how you just slipped that in there in the fine print. So basically what you are saying is : you have fixed nada and still have the same problem. Thank you for letting us know at least..
You are correct................................again LOFL I don't have any idea what I am talking about, but all the people reading this thread can figure out that nothing has been fixed with a spray bottle. I know a lot more But I am not going there. I will leave it be
Today at the track I had to return to pits because a beep sound and then in the dash the gearbox red indicator turned on,a tech scanned the car and found a error code Angular clutch speed error 0715 and only 1-2 speed worked he delete de code but was on again after a micro ride in the pit lane. My car is a 430 scud any idea?
My new car is hitting false nuetrals between 1 & 2 / 2 & 3... not alot but at least 2-3 times every 30- 40 mile drive. Just finished this procedure of cleaning the 3 sensors (2 on left/right front of clutch housing, and 1 on left rear tranny case under airbox). I removed the left rear wheel and gravel gaurds/fender liners, I did have good access to sensor #28, but not #40, you have to remove the airbox assembly, them remove the the small heat shield beneath the airbox to get to sensor #40. So unless you want/need to inspect your brakes or do some engine compartment cleaning you do not need to remove the left rear wheel, you can access everything from the top and by removing airbox. It is a pretty simple procedure. I hope it works
My car have the same symptom that Akram's car, (360 F1) when i scan with the sd3 it says 2 error codes: Gearbox Revolution Input & Box Revolution Input. I will clean today the 3 sensors just in case that maybe resolve the problem. I will let you know.
Hi Guys, Yesterday i clean the 3 sensors, all was very dirty. all you have to do is remove the airbox assembly and you can access to all of them. I put all back, i turn the battery switch on, i make a test drive but the Trans light is on and i can only shift 1st and 2nd gear. I have to scan with the sd3 to reset the values? or i could be another problem? The sd3 says: Gearbox Input Revolution. Here are the pics of the sensors. Hi Guys, All Done: I install the Gear Revolution Sensor part # 168729. Works perfect and the trans light went off automatically and runs great.
How to access the item 40 on this diagram? At my car the electric wire (which I suspect is for rear angolar speed sensor - item 40) goes under some kind of heatshield, which I seem not to be able to remove unless I remove the aftermarket (Tubi) exhaust? Is this really needed in order to access it from the top?
Just to help If you get the code "Gearbox Revolution Input & Box Revolution Input" it's the sensor towards the back of the gearbox. The front 2 are for the engine ECUs only.
I was thinking of cleaning my sensors. Does anyone know if these need gaskets or gasket sealer when you re-install them?
Part -#40 is only about $200 for anew one. Cleaning is not going to do anything, trans oil splashes on it..... If you are going through the trouble of removing airbox, etc. just replace as preventive maintenance, they seem to fail quite often from what I have read, mine just did...... Be very careful to not drop the retaining clip where the 2 cables connect on the support bracket, layer the area underneath with a large towel in case you drop anything....ask me how I know this... I only used a removeable "locktite product" on the bolt, nothing else needed.
I have a 2004 360 F1 and I am getting the red F1 light, R,1 and 2 gear only and the P0715 DTC. I cleaned the two front sensors and no luck. They both ohmed out at 970ohms and I found in the service manual that the back sensor should ohm out at 530 ohms +- 10% mine was OL so I replaced it with a new one (I ohmed it out before I installed it and got 499 ohms) The F1 light is still on won't go past 2nd gear and I still get the P0715. Does anyone have any ideas what else can cause this? I can only get limited information from my scan tool Thanks
Update, After I checked resistance on both sensors (the new one and the old one) I knew I had found the problem. I did turn the battery off for about a minute which is not enough. I then turned it off for about 30 minutes and that cleared out the Keep Alive memory in the TCU but not the ECU (PCM), I knew this because after I turned the battery back on, the check engine light was on with the P0715 DTC (it should have been cleared too). I used my scan tool to clear the DTC out of the ECU then drove the car for about 50 miles and it ran perfect! If you repair the problem, before you drive the car I would recommend turning off the battery for at least an hour (overnight would be better) unless you have a scan tool that can clear all of the DTC's from memory (both the ECU's and TCM).
My version of this story is that after getting P0715 I cleaned all 3 sensors, checked its resistances and it all checked out. But the car would throw the code after driving for a bit. I replaced the angular position sensor (the one under the airbox) and I'm back on the road with no issues. My guess is that the sensor was failing under heat but otherwise testing fine when it was cold.
