Beautiful car. I LOVE those seats !!! Glad there was a happy ending, and kudos to FOS for doing the right thing. It's nice to hear a 'good' dealer story for a change.

The $13k was msrp to msrp. I won't wind up paying for any of the miles I put on the 2016.

CONGRATS!!!! So happy for you. This is an happy ending to both you and FOS. I am pretty sure FOS is aware of the heat generated by this thread, especially when so many repeat customers of FOS chimed in and was aware of the developing situation with one another.

    Kevin?

Yeah, definitely do. I sold the GTR yesterday however, so maybe after all this bad luck, the new one will turn things around for me.

If not, I'll need to buy another color going forward.

BTW, aren't you supposed to be hanging out on the lambo forums? What brings you here??

So when I originally was working a deal with the dealership on trading for the new car, we had an understanding (or so I thought) that they'd cover the paint protection costs (as the 2016 had it and it was important to me), and we even discussed having the company the local Porsche dealership uses do it. However, when I asked to confirm yesterday in writing, the dealer said they felt that the deal without it was fair. They said they're willing to discuss on the phone tomorrow, but it sounds like they're looking to back out on that.

    What are your thoughts here?

Funny enough this thread showed up as a Sponsored Post on my Facebook wall. I thought I recognized the road and it wasn't until you mentioned a GT-R I realized who it was! Congrats on the new (new) car. Glad it eventually got resolved for you.

They are being more than fair to you offering a brand new car. Do the paint protection yourself. I assume you mean the ceramic coating? It's a grand. Don't lose this deal over that. I think FOS has redeemed themselves and do not owe you the paint protection. Just my worthless 2 cents.

Agree, it's more than fair even without the paint protection.

New car is worth a lot more than the old one. Well more than the msrp delta. 2 model years newer. No mileage. Great spec. Sports seats. It's all win.

I was referring to the clear bra / clear wrap.

I get, and agree, that they're being fair. I suppose I'm just a bit of a stickler for sticking to a deal as it was discussed. "Man of your word" and such.

I'll take the new car either way, and I'm sure I'll be happy with it, I'm just a little disappointed they've changed their mind after (as I understood it) we had agreed to terms. I won't ruin things over it, and will pay out of pocket if needed, it's simply that it's not what I had thought the deal was.

Simply curious as to how others would handle it at this point.

Obviously I wasn't there and don't know what was promised but as I see it, they are being more than fair. For them to go further out of pocket for your clear bra- nah. Not right to expect that. Pay for it yourself if you want it.

Is PPF on front end only or the whole car? Cost of front end is anywhere from 1350 to 2000 USD and whole car is 5 to 6k plus cost of paint correction detailing work if you want the paint to be perfect. I would try to negotiate and work out the price for the PPF with the dealer.
