Well I am coming back to ferrari. Had a 430 and it had a lot of issues years ago and was purchased back from the dealer as a lemon. Got a lp560 next and never had an issue but didn't have the same fun experience of rwd. After time has passed I decided to give the horse another shot and gona get a 458. I'm looking to put some wheels on it (22 rear and 21 front) and was looking to go with the pur wheel that ferrari put on their 4.7 million $ TRS which is also running same sizes. Anyone done this on the thread? Did you notice a huge performance loss? The rims are monoblock and weigh in at 25 lbs front and almost 30lbs in rear which i think the stock are around 25 front and rear and speciale are even lighter at almost 20. I love the look of them vs stock but wondering what others think and any issues? Thanks for the help.

You are not the first one to throw away a lot of money !

You may find reasonable big problems with the Ecu's ! Beware !

Why do you say that? Curious. Is this any different from a California? I know several in town with same wheel combo and no issues.

Those wheels are really nice but why do you want to go so big?

I know several who did so. The ECU's simply don't accept them ... waste of time and money ...

We had some threads here recently, do the search function ...

I was interested in maybe getting HRE S204s or similar until I saw this thread. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144595616-post37.html

All the Vendor threads were the staggered 21/22" setup so I was confused. I couldn't find any of the ECU issues in my searches either but obviously I am very new here.

You won’t have ECU issues of the OD of the tire is the same as stock. You will if it’s not and especially if you have a different OD front to rear I’m not a fan of PUR on any car, but I’m HRE bias. I think the size will look funky, but it’s your car.

I have seen 458s with that setup in person. They look too big for the car but if it's lowered properly it gives it stronger look. As far as i know there won't be many any ecu issues as long as its the same outer diameter as the stock setup.

Life long Ferrari fan and life long critic of stock Ferrari wheels. I don't agree that stock 458 wheels are just fine. The 21/22 set up looks amazing and aggressive. I will do that as soon as I need a change for my 458. I am running 20's Especiale wheels because I just had to ditch my stock 5 smokers. There is no concave on the stock tears making the car look goofy. The Especiale rears are wider and do have concave. Make the change buddy.

Hate my stock diamond wheels. I just ordered a set of HRE P101's in silver finish in 20/21. As long as you plus size properly the ECU won't have an issue.

These are exact wheels. Thoughts? I wouldn't slam it this much but looks good to me!

You don't think they are too big looking? Stocks weigh 25 lbs... these are 25 and 30 rear. She'd be a bit slower but I'm not racing her..

Thoughts - 21/22 look too large for the car, and yes that also looks too low. Looks like he's trying too hard. That will have an adverse effect on both handling and ride

Guess we will see... I'm gona do it. I've seen several in person with the 22/21 combo and it makes the car look very updated imo. Also spoke to a few guys that have that setup on their Californias here and they both said they don't notice much ride difference.. maybe a tiny power loss off the line but turning it handles like a dream. Stocks to me just make the car look old and the wheel wells look massive but obviously I'm going to have a much different opinion than other age groups that drive these cars... I also don't have a lift, so this will help a little in the hard to get into parking lots. LOL

Please keep us updated and lots of pics with the finished product! I 100% agree with your sentiments and I'm in the same boat with no lift. It's a win-win! reduce wheel gap but also raise car hahaha
