I am taking the 308 out for an early morning run on Sunday 2nd through some of the twistier roads in Harriman State Park, Rockland County NY to get breakfast and chat over coffee. If anyone would like to join us they'd be more than welcome. PM me for details. This is very informal - just a few guys going for a drive. We go maybe once or twice a month... between 2 and 5 cars normally.

    Regards
    David

Cool! I also have a buddy who may be interested. They have an Elise. But, I am sure you want to keep this a manageable size.

Looking forward to when the next one happens!

A couple of us are heading for a breakfast drive tomorrow (Sunday 13). Basically the same route we took Clyde on. We are leaving my house near Harriman between 07:00 and 07:15. We will drive though the park on some picturesque twisty back roads and then stop for breakfast around 8 at Dottie Audrey's in Tuxedo.

Any local fchatter is welcome to join us. PM me for the start location. The weather looks dry and warm.

Indeed it was late notice yesterday. Our plan was to head to North Salem for a show there but I only heard late that it was not happening. Sorry about that.

It was really fantastic this morning. No traffic on the 3 of the 4 routes we took. We just got back

I would be interested in joining as well if we could make it a lunch drive instead of a breakfast run.

The issue with lunch time drives around here at this time of the year is the amount of traffic, cyclists and walkers. Lunchtime works during the week or at the weekend later in the year.

The roads we usually take are great at 6AM, ok at 8AM, busy by 9AM and gridlocked by lunchtime unfortunately.

    Regards
    David

I understand.......it is tough for me to get out there that early with a family for a drive...as they like to join.

    Nailed it.

We live in a tough area to stretch high-performance vehicles' legs out.

Agreed. I have a slow Ferrari so less of an issue for me... redline in 3rd is 85ish. But even in my little old M3 with 333 hp I can't have the throttle buried for more than a couple of seconds once I'm on the move round these parts. Must be a real pain for anyone with something more than a 355.

That's part of the reason I choose the roads I do...they are a challenge at reasonably low speeds... for me at least in the 308.

Maybe Clyde will chip in and say what he thought about the route in his 355. I know Gotham Dream Cars also drive these roads during the week but I guess they don't want their customers going too fast either.

At the very least is a pretty drive and a good breakfast.

    Regards
    David
