Just purchased a 2013 458 Italia about 2 months ago. My question is,
Is there any problems with spraying the engine with a car wash wand? (After letting
    it cool down).
Just concerned about getting many electrical connection wet or other potential
    problems.
Any comments or suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Don

You should be fine. Just spray with the wand held away a good distance in a wide fan pattern instead of a jet pattern. Be careful with the valve covers because the red paint will chip away if you get too close with a pressure washer. Dry up the water with a blower or towel (or both) once done so you don't leave water spots on the plastics and/or carbon pieces.

My advice - clean engine compartment and all components by hand , why take a chance ?
Its not to hard to do using dampened wheel woolies of different sizes , some soft paint brushes and air blower .
The red paint on valve covers comes off easily using chemicals and rages . Be gentle rubbing them .

Get Adam or Shawn's opinion at Crescent.

    BTW, really great looking 458!

Yeah I've done it with water like I explained. Most times I will use my steam cleaner, various brushes and microfibers like you are saying.

Spraying water directly on the engine may be a little dangerous. I recommend using a waterless detail spray instead
