WOW someone just STOLE this scud for $210k + buyer's premium (any one know what the premium is?) 2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia | Monterey 2017 | RM Sotheby's
Bad guess....only 3720 miles Common color means no detriment. Off colors negatively impact value. Which colors add value?
From my experience most popular are red and black. Yellow and darker blues being least popular. They call it retail red for a reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The post I was replying to was deleted. As far as color goes, you're correct on regular production cars. On limited production cars, you're wrong. The rarest colors will bring more money in most cases.
From my research red has been priciest. Yellow has been cheapest. I dont doubt you, it may just be the mileage and options that made them cheaper
In regards to the Scud I would agree with that assessment to date. They sort of sit in between regular production and limited production classification. I believe with time they will lean more toward the limited production "special" cars. This is where you'll see the rare colors bump up in value. The extreme example would be non red Enzo's, Laferrari's, etc. Recently in Monterey, a red Laferrari hammered around 3.4m and the white one went to 4m (no sale).
I believe the color still has a greater impact than the particular rarity of said color. For example, white has been a very popular color for cars in North America for four or five years now. While it may be somewhat rare in Ferraris, it is none the less quite popular today.
I thought these cars would be selling for a lot more for it by now. Yes Ferrari just made too many of them.
For reference, Jim's post quoted here from June 2015, compared with the price reference for a similar miles similar price car in recent posts above, indicates that Scud prices are approximately the same as what they were two years ago.
It a shame these Scud are selling so cheap with all the engineering and Technology gone into them from Ferrari, i sold my 63 Corvette for more then that price and it runs on a set of points 8 spark plugs and a Carburator total total cost $450.00
There's a red 16K mile 2008 (no US carbon package; full leather int.) Scud at Ferrari of Denver I saw earlier this week. Looked clean. I think I heard $185K for it which seems a tad low to me....
