I have wanted a set of fitted luggage for my car for some time now. Seeing how scarce they are, I decided to design and make some to fit my 1985 308 QV. It has the shallower luggage compartment in the rear due to the cat under the floor. I am attaching some pictures of the set. The cases are made in high quality leather, and in particular case, they match the Saddle Interior with a contrast Cross Lacing.
As I have said, I am sure there are going to be comments made here! Hope you like the way they turned out. And at least the interiors won't fall apart like some of the older types.

That looks to be a very nice job, Karl. I have no problem with faithful reproductions of the original intent. How did you do the interiors? Is there any room left for a quart of oil? ;)

Fantastic job, Karl, and I bet less than half the cost of a Schedoni set. I've looked into doing this myself, but haven't sourced a place to do it. How did you arrange it?

Thank you all for your positive responses, I really do appreciate them.
Now for the main question. Yes I intend to market them and I will say that the one area where there will no compromises is Quality. Having said that, they are all handmade, though I made it a point to try to modularize them. Guess its my automotive design background. So in the set there are 2 types. Both end pieces you see with the curved tops are the same and the 2 center pieces are the same. What can be done is customize the insides of the cases. Also they can be made to match your specific interiors if that is what you want and Cross Lacing can be in a contrasting color, like mine, or in the same color as the rest of the leather. All the cases will have the Cross Stitching because that is part of the "Brand" identity and I would like to keep that design element.
As far as the interior of the cases goes, they are currently trimmed in a high quality cloth that matches the Saddle Leather on the outside. There will be a choice of interior fabrics offered that match the Exterior Leathers. Be assured that they will not disintegrate and crumble like some of the older Schedoni bags. The inside material will be wear resistant, and also resistant to water and stains.
Lastly, after discussions with a few interested parties, I believe one of the cases can have an insert that allows the owner to carry some car detailing materials like Meguir's Instant Detailer, Armorall, Invisible Glass, Terry towels, rags, etc.
Please keep those thoughts coming folks!

first: they are wery good looking.

Second: the car here below looks like a 308 GTS, and its seats leather doesn't wear like the original 308. Probably it's even more reliable and cheaper. But it isn't a 308 GTS.

Third: you can be happy with a Fiero too, why not.

    Well, Alberto,
I'd love a genuine set of Schedoni luggage for my QV (and my 400, for that matter), but there aren't any around, and those that do come up are hideously expensive, or incomplete. I have no desire for a mint set, as all I want it for is to carry stuff, but I do like the idea of fitted luggage from a packaging perspective. I was planning to have a set made, but haven't gotten around to it. Karl has, and good luck to him. I'd look at ordering a set, but I have a deeper boot, and shipping from the USA costs a fortune.

If you actually want to use the set, I must say I find the "Turbo" set much more convenient, with one single large bag instead of two flat cases. Only trouble is you have to argue with your "other half" what will go in the bag, and what will stay behind, whereas with the two flat cases: to each its own.

Oh, she does that too...and then, you nevertheless need a bag to bring backs the goods.

(That reminds me of a trip to Alsace a few years back, when we came back with the trunk occupied by the luggage, so we had to pile a dozen "Kougelhopfs" in the cokpit behind the back of the seats...Ah, Wikipedia tells me that you call these "Gugelhupf" in English; well, you learn something new everyday)

That's correct, why not. But every leather specialist can do the suitcases set as you want: It's not a problem. My specialist does a Dino 206-246 one, I think it costs 1800 euro

The only time i went out for a wekend with a Ferrari, It wasn't my car and I went with a friend.

So I got with me one of the two 308 big suitcases. But I agree that the 208 turbo flat big suitcase is the best if it's just for you. And the Cuoio Designer early one is even better as it hasn't that stupid layer inside that makes flake with age: the same is for all others Designer brandes suitcases, that in my opinion are the best ever. Look: this interior is 35 years old and no flake, zero. Problems started when Ferrari asked them for a washable interior...

Well, this makes Karl effort more valuable yet, for those who do intend to use their luggage set for travel, as it is true that the original 308/328 set is almost always plagued by flaking, so using it is difficult without having the liner redone, which costs a few €uros/Dollars.

I don't have any trouble with flaking at all in my two big bags (on black, one tan), but as I told you I think that, even that they are dimensionally the same as the "Turbo" bag, my guess is that they are from a "Mondial T" set, as they have a "Cavallino" embossed, but are not marked "Turbo". So they were probably made slightly later, and do not have the terrible rubber/leather washable liner that disintegrates with time.
See picture of the liner of my tan bag here-enclosed.

    Perfect interior.

As Alberto said, the issue was when Ferrari ordered the lining to be washable that the problems occurred.

Just goes to show that natural products, like full leather, are still the best.

Yes, as Simone Schedoni once explained, they tried to "incorporate" (do not ask me to explain how, 'cos I have no idea...) some natural rubber over or under a very thin layer of leather for the liner material, this to make it more easily washable. But natural rubber dries hard with age, and then disintegrates in zillion of flakes. There is nothing that can be done about this, the only solution is to have the liner redone either in cloth or in full natural leather.

You are right, your one is a Mondial suitcase, not a turbo suitcase. It's very close, but I don't think it has the same dimensions. It would be interesting if you could measure it to discover if they have the same dimensions.

I have a set of Schedoni luggage for the 308 that has a redone interior with cloth (with the same pockets shape and dimensions of the original) and looks very nice. The restore cost was 150 euro each big suitcase, 300 euro total amount.

My interior specialist always asks me if I want a new set with the same dimensions of the original one, and he also always tells me that a new one would look great and even better than the Schedoni one, as it's new and not 30+ years old. I always answer him that they are just for show and for the pleasure to own a precious thing full of history: I don't want to spend 2 k to have a repro luggage that I don't need as I don't travel every week with the car. If I have to spend money for Ferrari luggage, my opinion is that they are better allocated in an orignal set or in a restore of an original one.

Karl's suitcases looks great, my interior specialist ones would look even better and closer to the originals, but they are repros, I really cannot find a reason to buy them, unless you have to travel the world with your 35 years old 308. But, If I had to destroy my 308 travelling all around the world, I would do it in a great style and I would put in an original set: you just live once.

Without joking: a backup set could be an idea, but in my opinion at first you must have an original one, then you can buy a repro to save the original, but if you just travel once in a year, you can do it with the Schedoni, that will last much more than you

    ciao
