All new chassis, upgraded engine, electronics out of the 488.

Grumpy old men remain the same for the past 30 years! People who didn't like the 550 back in the day wax lyrical now. I never liked it, but at least I remaing loyal to my original thoughts...

as a California owner i dig it. does it knock me over ? no...no Ferrari has elicited a big emotional response from me since the 355 , except the LaFerrari.

to me Ferrari is more about the sum of its parts. sound, feel. performance, heritage, etc...the days of them being rolling art are long gone. so i take what i can get

    this i will take.

this hits all the bases for me. hardtop as i usually have it up and i want the sound insulation, but able to put the top down when i feel like it.

im sure it will sound great. it will handle great. it will be fast-enough as im not some 25 yr old engaged in stop light dick measuring. anything under 4.5 sec to 60 is plenty fast for me

the interior is gorgeous. i need that these days. i want to feel pamperd in luxury

dont get me wrong. i love a beautiful 512 that smells like gas an oil, and is raw as ****, but i dont want to own it

    the Portofino i will own

thanks. to me a new chassis means no body parts will fit from the old model. esp the windshield and a pillars. wonder if this fits that criteria

There are other advantages coming with the new Portofino platform. It would now provide the opportunity to offer a V12 convertible for far less money and greater availability than a F60 offers today.

    Beautiful.

I guess it will perform to a similar standard too.

As for Portofino it helps if you roll the 'r' a few times ,with a heavy 'f' ..try it now :)

Otherwise they could have gone for a racing theme,i think the only available ones being.. Mugello or Vallelunga? Hmmmm.

To the guys n gals who had already ordered one congratulations!

I like it, but the family look is worrying, please don't end up like Aston where you cannot tell which car it is.

Rear treatment much better than 812 though it still looks like a Cali in proportions.

Will sell well like the Cali before it, broadens the appeal of the model.

    That is pretty.

I liked the California with the roof down but up..

Pininfarina design was it? Anyway it was used a fair bit on Euro cars. That curve on the C pillar. As such it reminds me of these other cars too much. Portofino has moved away from this generic design and I like it a lot. I don't like that roof line at all.

    Thought about this overnight.
Now convinced myself the Portofino will come with a V12 option (maybe without the rear seats) in the future.
I am putting my name down today !

I was so looking forward to seeing this new GT as the Cali is the one car in the current range I would have above all the others due to its versatility (back seats for the kids, open air of the mountain roads, classic GT proportions).

I really want to love this design but I can't. To me its an unhappy mix of angular aero features and gentle curves, and the front looks like a grinning maniac. I so wish they would turn to Pininfarina or Touring Superleggera to inject come elegance back in to the GT cars. Aston Martin has now assumed a leadership position in GT design.

As a lifelong Ferrari fan, I have to say that the current range is the least desireable it has ever been. Most powerful and technically accomplished, yes, but least desirable.

    Identikit Coupe.

It lacks the elegance of the Cali T and frankly without the badge it could be anything. Not beautiful. Not special. Not desirable.

+1, it canìt really be said it has mecca aero style, agree with you, a bit tweaked but still plain and somewhat cautious

Be sure and more confident in the future, no SUV at all, don't believe to magazines and stupid clickbait, no SUV, really, as for the names, they wanted to give the impression of a change between one model and the other, Portofino is not my favourite name too, but at the end, as far as we have a 488 Daytona or GTO or whatever will be, I'm happy.

Elegance or lack of it for me is a very personal perception. Because this attribute is not easy to define in words but it is no doubt associated with clear lines, below I post side by side the profile pictures of what I consider an elegant Ferrari GT and the Portofino.

Loved 812 from first pictures, quite liked Portofino even if first CG pictures are flattened, surely will love in person, to all people distusted by new design: it is really impossibile to judge a Ferrari on a pc screen, go to the dealer or at a saloon, See different colours, stares at the metal body flesh and curves, it's a different story.
