So I haven't posted in a while since I got my baby. I have put around 1600 miles on her in 2 months.. damn she is fun. My poor 911 had the battery die since I wasn't using her.

Now the first problem has happened and I had posted about it. After about an hour of driving she will stick in 5th and won't go up or down a gear. Also upon starting out she will hesitate trying to switch from 1-2 and then jump to 3rd... I have found work around and she has not seemed the worse for wear.

But I wanna figure this out.

Friend who is a Mclaren mech in LA asked his boss, a former head Fcar boy. He said the actuator was probably leaking pressure from the bleed screws. We got her lifted and took it apart...see pic.

No leaking screws. So back together and onward...
Next step is to align the actuator with a special tool and then run the self learn program on a sd3 or Leonardo... that is weekend after next (work this coming weekend).

We will figure it out and I am actually enjoying the whole process of figuring it out and driving the crap out of my Fcar....

Now the point... these are hand built, high performance, exotic cars. To that point, my friend was just prepping a 720s for delivery. Up on the jack he decided to hand hit a few areas and see how solid things felt. Under the front section, he heard a popcorn like sound. Like something was jumping. He decided to take the cover off... and guess what rolled out the low end?????

    A 10mm socket... .. hahahaha

Enjoy the moment and the car... and I'll figure this little thing out... but she still drives and smiles... and watching every little kid that wants their pic taken with her....

    Priceless..

    Paul

Had the same problem. Wouldn't go into 6th. Was air in the system.

Do a full bleeding including actuator and it will solve the problem.

This is something you never forget! I would write a letter addressing the issue with the factory and to offer the return of the socket so it would be one of very few to find their way home. :D

Drive around with the socket and take pics with it. Show it a good time. Send the pics back to them with the socket. The socket will have had a great vacation across the pond.
