Lambo Safety Car at Monza?

I guess a Ferrari wasn't good enough? It was a donated to celebrate CEA (fire brigade) 50 year anniversary but I thought it interesting to be on Ferrari's home track during F1.

 

I saw that and wondered the same thing........

That good ole 348 was almost like a tradition at Monza.

 

Was good to see. Made a change from the usual Mercedes commercial

 

I say 70 trumps 50....nuff said

I remember a red Countach as the SC at the Monaco GP in the early eighties. Probably have a pic of it somewhere

 

Ferrari should have donated a F12 to celebrate its 70 years.

 

I think they finally retired it after 2015 race. I don't remember seeing it last year. It was the chief marshal's car if I remember well.

 

I saw that, too, and couldn't help but think wtf? Sweater and the entire Elkann clan were there; he couldn't scare up a LaFerrari for the day? The Mercedes safety car was still there, too, and - given that Merc is a major F1 sponsor, wouldn't be the least surprised to find out they welcomed the Lamborghini there just to rile up Ferrari.

 

The Lambo was a slap in the face.

It's probably sitting in someone's collection now, with its pedigree of being the F1 support car for so long at the Italian GP, all the drivers that have nailed it around parabolica, and the general increase in value of 348 on the whole

 

Clearly, a sign that VW will be entering F1 with Lambo badged cars!

Do you think the tifosi will also support Lamborghini ?

 

The Lambo looked so out of place when I saw it on the grid. It looked weird.

 

It looked pretty sexy to me. Wild, like an F1 or supercar should be.

 

I've always thought unless a car is extreme, like a 599xx, or fxxk, most road going cars looks out of place at most circuits, f1 cars just look right there... however, I've had an awful lot of fun over the years on various circuits in all kinds of road cars, so performance wise it's still fun.

 

It's an Italian car nonetheless...
