Thank you...what about the little button which was a hot link to the last post in a thread?
I admit this wasn't an enterprise testing effort, but it was 6 weeks 2 developers, Jack and me, and 3-4 user testers including Dave. I asked for testers, we could have used more. FYI we're not targeting to make it work perfect for outlier users like yourself, our aim point was 99% of users with the backdrop things will work a little different than it did before. If we were trying to duplicate the old software 100% we wouldn't have changed. Hopefully people look at it as a significant net gain, you are going to lose a little, but hopefully gain a bunch.
Seems to be heavily geared towards mobile devices... Mixed feelings on that, when mobile it's great.. on desktop not so much... Oh well...
Had some asked, I would have gladly tested. If there was a thread, I did not see it. Given you hired a company, they should have created a check list. Not preaching - just mentioning for future. This day will come again.
sorry guys, I have to hit the bed, but I'm around all day tomorrow. I can't handle any more intellectual conversations with Rocking Dave. keep the reports coming in, Jack and I are keeping track and tomorrow we'll provide a more organized list with updates.
I think FC may be a little different than a lot of forums. Saw a stat somewhere that 70+ of online shopping is done on smartphones now, can't imagine that browsing is much different. So I'm guessing the software aims at the most common denominator. Are you using the classic version or the new version?
Dam - showing now. People must be working still. OK I'll shut up now as it seems stuff is getting corrected.
Forgive me for being an idiot, but how do I get the newest post to be on the top of the thread? I don't see it in "Preferences".
I am studying responsive design, and the current industry standard is to create your site with mobile as first focus. Every major website adapts to mobile usually by resizing desktop site. This makes many desktop sites look like mobile. Go to microsoft.com and resize your browser window, the site will change shape and size based on how small the window is.
As rob said bove, we are keeping track of bugs. I have a running list and we will work with developers to get everything fixed asap (starting tomorrow morning). Keep us updated on bugs, the more you share, the better we can make things... but be nice about it
You're no idiot, I am not sure we have that functionality but so I will discuss with developers. There is a "go to unread" button by the page number if that helps
Hi Jack - I just spent 10 minutes trying to figure that out "Go to unread" is a kludge and I really hope the option to have most recent first is available. When I click on a thread I want to see newest first etc.
thanks for the feedback, I did not realize how important that function is. I will see what our options are.
As a paying member, am I to be presented advertisements between every x number of posts forever now? If so, then what's the incentive to pay? I suppose I could live with the loss of content to the blank space to the right, although that seems lame. But this strikes me as a total sell out to advertisements. I can live with change, but the introduction of massively more ads for paying members seems a slap in the face.
#1, thank god there is an old skin because that new one..ugh. #2, now every picture in every thread is a click on link...instead of just appearing in the body of the form post. I hope that's not by design.....
