Fantastic video. Any idea what the title of his book is, if it was translated to English, or where to find it?

Boy, he really doesn't have good things to say about the 348 at about 20 minutes into the video.

+1 Yes we need more details.

Joe do you know what book he is talking about?

1090kg for the F40 as it was originally designed is amazing!!! They didn't like to see the 'carbon weave'...

Alberto do you know anything about the book mentioned in the video?
Where was the silver 288 GTO filmed that was also in the video? The front end looked different on that particular silver Ferrari.

I didn't see the entire video, just some parts. I went to visit Materazzi at home ten days ago.
No 288 GTO was ever produced in silver, so a silver one cannot be still in factory conditions.

    Ciao

This particular GTO was originally built in red as all of them were, and both the paint & lower-frontal bodywork are a post-production application.

Materazzi shows me many books, the Joe Sackey one too. He showed me another fantastic book, in English, that I never saw before: Maybe it's that.

Ok, it just seemed he was excited about the one book but didn't describe the title during the interview. He has a large book collection it appears from the video! Thank you.

Picture of Nicola Materazzi, taken Sunday September 3, on his house terrace. He is a great car enthusiast and very proud of his life spent in the car industry. That picture will be on my book about the four turbo cars that Ferrari produced in the eighties. Today at 14.30 local time I have an appointment with ing. Vincenzi, to talk about 288 GTO (the yellow one...) and the other turbo cars, this time from the seller and assistance point of view.

I will let you know something tomorrow or as soon as possible.

    Ciao

Alberto that is a wonderful image I can certainly relate to! The computer has it's uses but to have a printed book on hand to read is more special...

This is the best video explaining the creation of the F40 from the "father" of the F40 "Nicola Materazzi" !!!!!!

It is funny how in mid 1980s people were complaining that Ferrari no longer makes fast road cars... How somebody with a BMW M3 E30 could keep up or go faster than a standard Ferrari 308 , at less than half the price !!!

Next came the idea to modify the 288 GTO for racing, therefore the 288 GTO Evoluzione was created !! With 650 bhp it was a BEAST !! Only problem was the bad Aerodynamic Coefficient , so in just a few months (Enzo Ferrari was pressing because he was getting old and didn't have time or patience to see the new car !!!! ) the F40 was created for the intent of customers to have a street car than can go racing (reminds me of the creation of the 360 Challenge Stradale, a street version of the race car of the standard 360 Modena )!!!

The F40 was the street version of the 288 GTO Evo which was the race version of the street car 288 GTO !!!

Very cool video !!! Everyone who loves Ferraris and the F40 should watch it !!!
