FYI, Abarth now has an in-house Classiche dept which will certify genuine Abarths. As others have said, the inconsistent day-to-day operations of Abarth in period, along with many cars not having much by the way of official Abarth stamping/VIN tags makes things difficult. OT 1000 models, for example, received no special badges or stamping, just the Fiat VIN that it left Torino with. The only way to verify these chassis is through a couple subtle sheetmetal modifications in the engine compartment.
