The kid beat three World Champions today in a masterful display of keeping his nose clean amongst the chaos.
True dat, although one of those 3 was an innocent bystander. More importantly he outdrove his team mate by about 30 seconds. And that in a place which is notorious for catching people with no room for error and a wet start. Well done!
That's got to be one of the funniest comments I ever read! Stroll didn't "beat" any of the three World Champions today - All three were taken out of the race by an accident that Stroll was simply too slow to be anywhere near!
In order to finish first you first need to finish. Granted he didn't really beat those guys but he drove a clean race, which many others can't say, including his team mate who once again drove bumper cars.
He did'nt beat one (Alonso) who was an innocent bystander, the other two beat themselves...mentally and mechanically. I guess the rest of the field behind the "three-ring-circus" were just as "slow" as he(Stroll) had Ricci, Bottas, Hamilton in front of him and they were nearer.
So if Stroll had fanny-arsed around all race, driving slowly but staying out of trouble, finishing 10 laps behind the race winner but actually finishing the race, then he would have "beaten" the three World Champions? On that basis, there's an awful lot of s:censored:t drivers who have "beaten" World Champions over the years simply by not having a DNF in a race when the World Champions have failed to finish!
c'mon Phill, just stick to the first lap and the incident in Singapore 2017. Not generalizations and basis generalizations. That being said, I do have my reservations for Stroll as he still has alot to prove and is on a slow and upward learning curve.
You only talk about Stroll to denigrate Massa. And then you´ll complain about the Hamilton haters. There still must be a Massa sucks thread around there. Just for the record, Massa had to deal with a wrong pit stop strategy, but he outqualified Stroll by 7 tenths. Being outqualified by 7 tenths by a semi-retired midfielder like Massa makes me think that Stroll still has a lot of room for improvement.
Big difference: One can drive, the other not and is a has-been. BTW: It's true that I don't care too much about Stroll but there are some folks on here who think Massa was unfair sacked in favor of Stroll and Stroll doesn't deserve the seat. It's nice to see that they are increasingly proven wrong by a young Stroll who gets faster each race.
So you´re admitting you´re trolling. That´s reportable, you must know, you were a moderator once. With that kind of moderation, it´s quite understandable that the F1 forum goes south quite often. Massa reached his peak long time ago, and probably it was not a very high peak anyway, but he has showed that at least he was F1 material. Stroll still has to show a lot more to convince me that he can drive. At Baku he got a podium... So what? Massa could have won that race if he had not broken down.
Who said anything about trolling? I can't stand Massa and I'm glad when Stroll beats him. BTW: Who is the moderator of the owners' forum?
Most of us here in this F1 section know you troll but if we bite you have a cry . If you like a driver he's some kind of god whereas the rest are just journeymen I like Stroll but he is no real talent, Massa would wipe the floor with him any day of the week Felipe would have been WDC except for Glock the cheat !!!
Still crying over that? Oh well never mind. Massa is not a WDC and never will be. The fact that he even had a chance at it was pure luck and not merited anyway. He should never have been in red. As for Stroll, he's no Max but he has improved a great deal this season. He hasn't crashed for longer than I can remember!
