Your picture is all very nice, but it doesn't actually show the reality of the situation!

You picture makes it look as though Max had plenty of time to see Kimi alongside him, but the reality is, the speed differential between Kimi and Max was such that, with Max's attention drawn to Seb coming across the track towards him, he would not have been aware that Kimi had raced up the inside of him at the exact same time, and so he would have thought he had a bit of space to his left (when in reality, the space had just been taken by Kimi, as your picture shows)

If Seb had not come across the track towards Max, then it was highly likely that there wouldn't have been an incident at all!

You're obviously not going to see that, and you're just going to keep blaming Max, so there's no point whatsoever in adding anything more to this discussion.

Sorry but I do not get it: Max is not to blame because he could not see Kimi but Seb is? How should have Seb seen this but Max not???

Surprised that no one has said it yet so I'll throw it out there - all of this today is DEFINITELY Honda's fault.

    LOL, Singhof you're beyond help.

Max was accelerating in a strait line, and pretty much kept his line, Vettel lacked spatial awarenes. He risked too much by crossing right from the start towards Kimi trying to defend his position. Just accept it:

You're finally catching on. Poor conditions, poor start, his title rival in 5th place and this idiot decides to make a Ferrari sandwich.
Please never ever put the word "intelligent" in the same sentence as Vettel. He makes Hamilton look like Einstein.

Perhaps you ought to look up the definition of cause and effect. Vettel and Rai were the cause of the sandwich. Max was the meat in the middle. The crash was inevitable at that point. There is no need to look beyond the Ferrari drivers as a team for causing this crash. Vettel pushed too far over to the left. Rai had an amazing start, but held onto it too long. Both are to blame and both have ruined our season. The end.

It's funny bc the only thing I agree with is my last sentence. That ricciardo is my favorite. I was playing devils advocate as I stated and got one hell of a response. Some people get way too emotional.

I'm not a big fan of seb I don't think he's the next coming of Schumacher I think he's been lucky in his career like Lewis with making good decisions.

My real opinion is vettel moved to block max, max moved to defend and Kimi was the innocent bystander in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's aggravating to most people bc it seems to happen a lot around max. Just crappy luck.

However, the only thing keep a lot of viewers interested was the vettel Hamilton championship. If Hamilton keeps extending his lead, people will lose interest again.

    This 100%

I still can't believe the Ferrari drivers didn't discuss all the possible scenarios ahead of the race and act accordingly. One such scenario would have been Vettel realizing he screwed the start and let Kimi take the lead. Eventually Seb would have passed Max with DRS. Serious case of the Red Mist. As he had shown in Baku.

Vettel was always super fast but he has shown several cases of poor racing craft. So memorable crashes when driving for RB come to mind (Turkey, Spa).

They will have more room at Sepang to find a way to take each other out again LOL. Sad all of this. Not a race.....just a parade on a drying track with an actual race in the middle field over all. Great place to do F1 biz though LOL.

Im with Blundle on this - Vettel overall was the issue if we talk blame over and over and over and over lol :). No action taken will only inflame things later possibly. On to Sepang and another race.

LH is in control and will smell the inevitable title. Bottas needs to find more pace as Mercedes will be looking beyond him in no time. Driver moves in 19 are the thing to look forward for me.

Kimi needs to go and take Vettel with him. Im no longer at all impressed with either Vettel, Ferrari or Kimi. Life goes and Ferrari need a change in team management and style. Its a bit old now all of this.

Im numb to another LH title and looking forward to a new formula and engines and the continuing evolution of the sport as we enter a new era of mobility that will deeply affect this sport.

How you expect anyone to argue with anyone that's so convinced of Max's wrong doing when every single person that knows anything about racing (i.e. REAL racing drivers) proclaim that HE is definitely the innocent one in this.
