I’ve driven the road to Moreno often. I forgot what it’s called but it wraps around lake Mathews then spits you out at hick town. You take the 15 and exit a few miles in. We also do palomar woh our club which wraps anza borrego. Gorgeous cruise.

 

It’s called cajalco pass

 

There is a drive group based in San Marcos, ya not OC, but they have a secondary meet point at Pala Casino
Also a long ways, even for Riverside/Corona people, but they have regularly scheduled drives.
They are called justdriveit.

They have a drive this Sunday, 133 miles .........and a lunch scheduled at end of drive.

I used to drive with Justdriveit group on the last Sunday of the month for a few years, it was a lot fun, got to meet and know very nice people but lately I have driven local with friends. I hope one day I will rejoin with Justdriveit group again.

 

While it's great owners take their cool/exotic/etc cars for extended drives, for me, most of these "organized" events usually start way too late in the day, defeating the purpose of enjoying "the open road". I prefer to be mostly done with my leisure driving by the time "regular" people start cluttering the roads.

 

I agree. Our club SoCal scenic Drive club we usually hit the road 7-7:30 no matter who comes or not we leave. We also don’t post routes... dangerous. For our past runs we go down to Mexico.

I live a couple of miles from Santiago Canyon. It's a relatively short drive, not really worth going to if you have to go a long way to get there.

Ortega Highway is pretty cool, but you need to get out really early, about 6 AM on Sat. or Sunday. Otherwise you get jammed up behind Ms. Minivan braking at each turn. Motorcyclists like to take the ride, too.

I like the drive out in the Julian area, too.

 

Thanks for the invites(?) to join, but with all due respect, I prefer smaller, more private outings and feel that anything more than 3-4 cars is too many.
Besides, unless going for more than 2-3 hour drive, I'm often already done by 8 or so to avoid crowded roads. I usually try to get going some time between 4 and 6. Enjoy your drives safely.

I'm in as well. Robertpel9, I was big into NSX before my F car. See my website www.mscperformance.com. Here's a video of my last dyno run. Made almost 600HP at the wheels with an Eaton supercharger at about 16 psi.

Regarding the Sunday Yorba Linda drive, I haven't seen anything posted for a few days. How many, if any, plan on making it? Getting up that early is tough on us retried guys!
