Non "Standard" Color F50s

I believe last I read on here, Nicolas Cage had bought that Azzuro California F50 & repainted it to red. That was my first F50 I ever saw at the Ferrari dealer in Richardson, Tx, back when it was in a tiny building owned by Classic BMW in Richardson as well. That picture was probably taken shortly after Boardwalk's grand opening as I remember it being there with, IIRC, a 333 SP on hand as well. Long, long time ago.

 

I can confirm that Tipo USA F50 exists today in its original red livery.

 

My notes suggest you are correct, but I cannot confirm this.

 

Wasn't there a member here a while back who had purchased an Azzuro Cali F50, which had been repainted from red by the owner who was somewhat obsessed with Azzuro California, and the Fchat member had the car repainted back to red upon his acquisition (or may have been prior to his acquisition?) before eventually selling it on? Or am I misremembering....

even so, it had the italian plate, I think it was 1996

 

I’ve often thought of these figures but these are only to help allocate the declared number of 349 by the factory, but what about the actual number of cars........ do they all fall into the Rosso Corsa category so don’t effect other colour numbers or is there any of the oversupply been found in any other colour, or like the 99999 cars ( all Rosso Corsa ).

 

Isn't that in fact Grigio Scuro?
