Thanks. When I got it in the fall of 1996, none of the Chicago dealers had one in stock and I had to order mine. I guess it had fallen out of favor. It's a fun watch. Very light and comfortable also BTW.

Went family vintage again today. 1939 Hamilton. My grandfather graduated from Villanova in 1933 with a finance degree. The only job he could get was part time on the floor at Republic Steel. By 39 he had worked his way off the floor. My grandmother gave him this watch to celebrate. He gave it to me in 1993 when I graduated from college. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Thanks. You have several very impressive watches. Actually, it's your post about this thread dying that spurred me to start posting my watches. I hope others start posting more pics again.

Well I think the thread is waning because of the new site design. I have also noted many broken links which to people like me, who look for answers to technical problems, is a real negative.

I also realize that most of my watches, that are sub $3K in cost, are not premium enough for the forum. Oh well.

Here's my latest purchase (again on the bench with a 308 engine diagram).

The monaco is on my bucket list. None of my watches even vaguely approaches $3k, so please keep posting at all price ranges. Regrettably, I think you're right that the new site design may be hurting the thread. Hopefully people will come back and adjust.

Don't let a "non-premium" watch stop you from posting. They're all cool in some way, and price has nothing to do with it. People in this forum are at all stages of life, and not everyone can afford or justify the cost of a Patek (I can't). There are some really nice ~$50 Seiko 5s that are quite nice, and would be welcome to be seen in this thread.

I'm fairly certain most, if not, everyone here enjoys all watches, regardless of price point, so please keep posting. Love the Monaco.

I got interested in wrist watches in the early eighties while being a school boy. Initially low budget digital stuff. Built in calculator or games - or both - where the highlights back then for me. As time went by, my interest in italian cars made me purchase my first Ferrari watch in 1986. I still have the receipt. Bought another one in 1987. The very first Ferrari is still in my possession although it rarely sees daylight. It's a quartz, I never use it, but I guess it still has a place somewhere in my heart. More expensive watches have since then came and left. The most expensive ones are no longer in my collection. I've had a few very fine vintage Rolexes but nothing more haute or premium than that. My current collection is very focused on vintage pieces that I myself find interesting, and of course - attractive. Price really doesn't matter for me. Watches can be both beatiful and quite interesting for peanuts if you just care to find them. Please enjoy your watches, and keep posting photos of your watches, no matter what they're worth.

Great Zenith. Love the fact that you've kept it unrestored.

I like the juxtaposition, great watch. Also reminds me of the SNL skit..cheezeborger, cheezeborger, no Pepsi only Coke.
