there is no disclosing of mileage for cars over 10 years, they are exempt , the car is obviously used and any warranties are long expired, it's buyer beware

franchised dealers sell at auctions cars that are below their standards, have defect or unknown issues that might make them responsible for hidden issues... dealers sell their stale inventory at auction because of greater exposure... I don't know of any dealer that will wholesale a "cream puff" and walk away from an easy sale/profit... buyer bewae

I have bought several FERRARI at BARRET, knowing what I was looking for I have done well over the years , but not all my cars were great deals , but over all it’s been good and I will be back in JAN for the 5th year in a row and I always buy cars so far....

My wife and I drove a 2010 California for sale here in Pittsburgh at a local Porsche dealer . I loved the brakes and steering but the engine sounds became too much after about 20 minutes.
I want to drive a 430 to see if we like it any better hopefully before going to BJ .
I prefer my base 911 over the California. I have the OEM sport exhaust on my 911 and always have it in sport mode perhaps there was something wrong with the Calif. exhaust in the car we drove ? It was too intrusive almost droning . ??

With respect, if you are troubled by a Cali exhaust, Ferrari is not the car for you. My 355 has no muffler - it would make a Cali feel like a school girl at a rock concert. And, 99.9% of Ferrari owners want that.

Dave I love the sound of myy 911 engine and never turn on my radio
Perhaps the V8 though in the Ferrari is just too much for me at this time of my life ( age 64) I guess I should of considered one when younger
I love the mark though such BEAUTIFUL cars nothing else like them ! Best !! Russ

Well, I'm 47 and love it. I brokered a 458 for one of my best friends - he will be 67 soon and loves the scream. What can I say?

exhaust systems are easily modified or changed from OEM, if the exhaust is offensive, there is high probability it was changed out for more aggressive sounds. Current versions of replacement exhaust often include valve to bypass the mufflers. Need to look for possible switch, to turn the excessive noise off. Although many owners opt to make as much noise as possible, kind of like woodpeckers to attract a mate... I have been satisfied with stock exhaust through the years without being intrusive to enjoying car, I think you should find the OEM exhaust sounds acceptable, with any deviance attributed to modifications

I think that there must of been a mod/ damage to the Californias' exhaust that we drove after all it was a 2010
I LOVE the song of an engine even from my MGB/ FIATs from the 70's I would like to drive another F car too bad so few are available here in Pittsburgh . I do have a neighbor with both a 360 and 430 so before I go to BJ I am going to ask him to give me a ride It MUST of been an issue with the car we drove Thank you all ! Russ

Review the car and whomever it representing it at the auction before the auction starts. Decide if you are comfortable with what you see and hear. Do not get sucked into the hype of the auction process.

car auctions have brought liquidity to collector cars, which is a good thing... the only downside is being under informed and caught up in the moment, and that is major...

observation of various auctions makes me think Barrett-Jackson prides itself on its' sell though percentage, as evidenced by their limiting of reserve / minimum sale pricing option... this favors the buyer, especially if the number of bidders for a particular car is scarce / lack of competitive bidders, that would otherwise help drive up price

very often there is a lack of bidders for a particular car allowing it to sell well below reasonable market pricing, also be mindful that a lack of bidders could be a sign there are issues or unfavorable knowledge about the car

becoming well informed about the model being sought and spending ample time inspecting a potential car before the auction is imperative, often the seller is available to discuss their car with potential buyers... depending on value of a particular car using an informed buyers agent to do ones bidding can be a way to keep knowledge at the max while keeping emotions at the minimum... and avoid restoration by Sherwin-Williams and blinded chrome polish

    Thank you Cheesey !
There is one car that I am interested in so far at the auction a gray F 430
I would prefer red or blue but the gray metallic is pretty and understated
My problem is I have only sat in a F 430 - never driven one so I am hoping to find one me to at least get a ride in before the auction

Thank you for your input my friend who acquired the tickets is a retired banker who handled dealer floor plans so he has seats on the main floor
BIG DANGER - he told me that the seats include EIGHT complimentary drinks a day that can lead to careless behavior !! LOL !
I plan on following the advice I have received on this site thank you again to all

What a tragic situation in Las Vegas Prayers and thoughts to those injured lost and to their families
