First drive: 100miles to the dragstip, some fun there and then back. Three runs with very mild starts from idle to save clutch ( 60th poor 2.32 ) : 13.30 / 111 . The third one was maybe a little bit quicker because of better shift points but missed the timeslip and they did not find it a few days later Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login . The exhaust valves permanently open = love the sound :) .

Fin612 - Congradulations on the 612. I know you will really love the car1

Taz - Are you sure the exterior is Grigo Silverstone? Silverstone is a standard color and no premium charge and sticker shows a premium color charge or is there a difference between Grigo Silverstone and Silverstone? My car is Grigo Ferro which looks very similar and is a premium color.

Did you run the car at 1000' or a 1/4mile? And did you have CTS off? Thats a respectable time.

With a 60 tread wear rating, they should handle well. The Pilot Sport Cup 2 handles just as well and has triple the tread wear rating. If you can find the correct sizes.

FIN612 - When I was at the Factory a couple of years ago I checked the color charts. Anything Griogo was a "special" color. Silverstone was not a special color. I was interested at looking at the colors as my car is Grigo Ferro pretty close to Grigo Silverstone.

I made some further investigation weather my has has older HGTC TCU SW with 160ms shift times or later HGT2 125ms TCU SW. I was lucky to find TCU from VIN 159598 , which is ( was ) manuafactured just before OTOs. So, it for sure has that later shift algoritm. During the annual service i asked the mechanic to take photo of my car's TCU and wow, it really has the same software loaded into the TCU. My VIN is 157980 , you can date of 15112007 on the TCU, which matched well to the factory database dates of my car: Production date 22-11-2007 , Finishing date 10-12-2007, then quick transportation by truck from the factory to Sweden, Delivery service 19-12-2017, delivered to the customer: 20-12-2007. Interesting thing is that it was registered in Sweden 6-12-2007 ( 612) :) , before the car was finished at the factory. You can see date of 2022008 on the TCU of 159598 - which confirms that the car was producted late Feb / early March. I hope these numbers help some other members with pre-OTO cars. So many changes in just a few months late 2007 / early 2008 .

Ferrari had some squirrelly mixes of HGTC and HGT2 terminology when the interim 612s were produced in early 2008 and late 2007. For a period, it looks like HGTC meant a 612 with HGT2 and CCM brakes. Later interim 612s showed HGT2 and CCMs as separate options. Glad yours came out as one of those with the good algorithms in the TCU.

I still wonder why the VIP Book has wrong dates. All the stamped dates with photos are about a month too early.

Hey everyone, this is my first post. I just recently purchased a late 07 612 with HGTC package. I was hoping to find out if 1) my car has the TCU software for 125ms, and 2) if it doesn’t, is it a simple software update from the dealer, or is there an actual mechanical difference. My VIN is 157091. Window sticker below. Thanks for any input! Image Unavailable, Please Login

Dan- From what we can see, she has Motronic 7.3.2 so likely has HGT2 (plus CCMs) era software instead of the old HGTS/HGTC software for F1. HGT2 did not include any upgrades to F1 software, that F1 software change was a general one to the entire 612 production in the 2007 timeframe. You can check and see if the F1 TCU matches the one posted above for a very late transition 612.
