OMG. My wife and I learned from David Scott that Julie Ibrahim's magnificent house was severely damaged by fire and smoke, especially the middle inside. Luckily, the fire department arrived to put out the fire, but the house has substantial smoke and water damage. Unfortunately, at this time the home is in unlivable condition. Many of us have been to Julie's amazing house for the celebration of Coach Ibrahim and our Ferraris and we all know what a wonderful friend she and David have been to so many of us.

You might want to contact them and let them know you are thinking about them. Very sad to convey the news.

Very sad - Julei found out just as she got off the plane from Italy - I've talked to David and my daughter talked to Julei - they are moving along with engineers and cleaning up - fortunately she is a very strong person but still sad

You will probably be reading this thread at some point so we won't bother you now, but we are thinking of you and pray all will be resolved without too much inconvenience. See you in Hilton Head!

I have photos of the damage, but I think it best if David or Julie post those. With the amount of
entertaining that both Coach and Julie did for the FCA, this is truly a blow to us all. Friends and
memories still in tact. The rest can be rebuilt!

Sorry to hear about this. Atlleast no one was hurt, you can always rebuild, although that is easier said than done with such a magnificent and historic house as this

Hi guys like a great GTO crash no pictures please in time....we may do a rebuild thread. Sad but spirits are high thanks to great friends like all of you here. Ironic that my fear of fire may have contributed, but regardless we are where we are. It was a small light ballast from a light someone left on. It should haved been replaced with LEDs by me some time ago.

    Hi all,

Thanks for your well wishes and friendship. While it was a shock to come home from two fabulous weeks in italy where David and I became engaged, we are remaining completely positive and tackling this as we would any other challenge that comes along in life. No one was hurt!!

The well wishes and support from our friends has been overwhelming. On Sunday after the fire, almost all of the Clemson University Soccer Team showed up unexpectedly and assisted in clearing the contents of the house! What an incredible gesture!!

I lost very little memorabilia, and the rest is stuff to sort through and rebuild. Luckily, our great friends were there on the scene when the fire broke out and literally saved the house. On another note, as I am sure anyone who hasn't been to the house may be wondering, all the Ferraris are perfectly fine as they are in a separate building. Thanks for not posting photos.

Life is too short for this event to steal our joy,

    Best always,

    Julie

I'm very sad to hear that, but glad to hear that David and Julie aren't hurt: They are two fantastic persons that me and my wife met here in Italy. Really disappointing that just after a so nice holiday here in Italy they have to face such a bad problem.
But if they both can handle an F40, I'm sure they will come out this too...

Well, David and Julie, what to say? Maybe better thinking about the engagement, that is a fantastic thing. And remember that you have two friends here in Italy: It's not something that helps you to rebuild such a big house, but a friend is forever and doesn't burn ever.

    Ciao

    Alberto and Paola

sorry to hear of this sad news. I know you will find great folks to contract and they will build the house back to the level and finish the original architect had envisioned.

I am happy you are both happy and healthy.

    best,

    Peter

Hey guys thanks for the well wishes. Progress is slow, the house is loaded with steel you would not believe. Bare to the plywood flat roofs, two major steel beams will be repaired soon, then the roof. It think we still are 12 months out....

First I've read about this - I hope the rebuild goes all right and congrats to Julie and David on their engagement.

To show that life goes on, why don't we still meet in Highlands on 5/26 for what would become the "Coach I Memorial Dinner"? I think it would make us all feel better.
