I wanted to provide an update on this. Got my car back today and everything works fine. Below is a pic of the part along with the part number. This PCB controls all of the functions on the steering wheel and it is pre-programmed from the factory. BUT, if you have LED's on your steering wheel, the mechanic will need to contact Ferrari and have them generate a proxy file to download the LED function. This is because the NVO does not come pre-programmed for LED's.

Also, the cost is $967 for the PCB and it comes with a two year warranty. So with installation it cost me just north of $1300 dollars.

    Hope this helps.

Hello, I am new to the forum. I purchased a 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia a couple of months ago. I haven't driven it much and I have experienced the turn signal indicator issue mention on this thread. I have an appointment to take the 458 to the dealer on Monday. I hope it's a simple fix and I can be on my way! The 458 is certified but this obviously is not covered under warranty. I hope I made the right decision to buy a Ferrari and that this isn't going to be the norm! I sold my 2018 Audi R8 and in the 2.6 years of ownership not one thing went wrong with it! I drove it cross country and it was very reliable. I decided to get the 458 over a 911 GT3RS and I am wondering whether I made the right choice. I always wanted a Ferrari and dream of owning one, but I was hesitant to own one out of warranty. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it's something simple and this doesn't become a norm for this car!

A 2018 Audi is more reliable than a 2013 Ferrari. If you would have purchased a 2021 Ferrari, I'm sure you would have had a more similar experience to your Audi. But instead of buying a new car, you bought an eight or nine year old car. You will experience more maintenance than when you purchased a new car.

Thank you for the response FFan5! I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining and there were several reasons why I didn't buy a 2020 or newer Ferrari. I am just not interested in turbo charged/hybrid super cars. Its not a matter of speed for me, but reliability and long term ownership. I understand that there are quirks that one has to accept with owning a Ferrari. I just haven't owned the 458 long enough and still getting to know the car. I'm sure I will get there with time. I never been a hardcore fan of just one car brand and really enjoy cars in general, but I do love naturally aspirated motors and Ferrari happens to have build some of the best out there. I hope it ends up being something small and I get to enjoy the 458 a bit more. Don't want to risk driving it without the turn signals for now to be safe. Be safe out there!

Add me to the list of people that this has happened to! I drove the car yesterday and everything was fine, but today the turn signals didn't work. Everything else on the steering wheel works fine and the actual lights themselves are fine (tested with the hazards). My car was a CPO car that I bought back in the summer. Sucks for it to fail just a few months after I bought the car and not when they were performing the CPO inspection. :) Oh well. Does anyone know if an independent shop can fix this? The fact that the board doesn't come ready for an LED steering wheel is a pain. My dealer is about an hour and a half away versus using a shop locally.

I know this post is from a couple years ago, but did you have any other issues after this, or has it worked fine ever since?

No issues since the board was replaced. When it did happen, the dealer told me exactly what it was and they were right.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use a device like an X431 to diagnose the issue instead of taking it to a dealer? My dealer is an hour and a half away, though there's a good independent in town. I don't have an X431, but I'm thinking of picking one up as I like to do oil changes, etc., myself. This would be a good incentive to go ahead and pick it up if it can also save me a trip to the dealer and back just to see what the root cause of the problem is.

Don't know if it is possible. If you have a good independent, then they should be able to diagnose it. Regardless, you can order a board from Scuderia Car Parts in the UK and probably get it cheaper. I've had good luck with them.

Either way the PCB new is like £700 plus am sure

Had a similar issue with the indicators ended being a broken solder on the PCB which my mate diagnosed and fixed

Something about it being a harder aluminium type solder which was a tad tricky but do able for no where near the above prices

So maybe see if you can check that?

Great, thanks to both of you for the help! The board is actually significantly cheaper on Scuderia Car Parts, which is nice to know. Has anyone had this issue and it was NOT related to the board? If not, it would make sense to go ahead and order the board for cheap and have the independent place install it for me, assuming they can do whatever is required to make the LEDs on the steering wheel work.

How much was it through Scuderia parts and independent install? I've had my 2013 for 2 weeks and the blinkers went out yesterday.

I’d have to go back and check the price, but I think it was $450-$550 on there. I didn’t end up getting it though because the turn signals randomly started working again.

I too had a broken printed circuit board, but was fortunate the part was in the United States.

You and JimPVB are incorrect. Earlier this year (car still under original factory warranty) the printed circuit board behind the steering wheel was replaced at zero cost to me, but the service advisor estimated out-of-pocket would've been about two grand.

I had the same exact issue. Both turn signals just stopped working. Dealer ordered NVO board, replaced and charged me $1,800. Now the steering LEDs do not lit up. So frustrating. I am driving the car to the dealer tomorrow.

Update: Took her back to the dealer, and they reloaded the Proxy file from scratch, then LEDs came back. No additional charge.
