I have been searching the web for weeks to locate the radio flip door for a 512 tr. Part # 630787 Hoping someone might know of someone who is parting out one. I have already tired all the usual sources such as Euro-spares and Ferraparts. part #4 in the drawing. Thanks Dennis Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ezored, is yours warped (from leather pulling) or missing completely? I agree with TurboJoe....if I remember correctly the shell is fiberglass. A good heat gun could reshape it back to new. If its something out of your realm of expertise, I would take the parts to a metal fabricator.....Im thinking a HVAC guy. They make custom hoods, ducts etc all day long. You just specify the shape and let them do their thing.....but tell them its for an old Honda, or you will pay the Ferrari tax hahaha.
I agree, but thought I would give it a shot first. Mine is missing, so I have no template. The car spent time in Japan, and they actually modified the dash to expose the radio full time. So I'm redoing the interior and going back to stock. Just a little concerned about the geometry of the hinging mechanism when I make the door.
The complete dashboard on the TR seems to be hand laid up fiberglass. These were not production cars, and a lot of time was spent trimming the interior. I could not imagine a production cars trimmed this way. Production cars just snap together.
Yeah, parting a Testa out should give one of those radiocovers ... Should indeed not be too difficult to #D print or just make with glassfiber ... Anyone can make a photo for Dennis please ? As I recall well, the 2 little iron achses are the bad part of it ...
Found one in U.K. ... complete dash, broken ... try to deal http://www.ebay.de/itm/Ferrari-Testarossa-1986-Year-RHD-Dash-Board-Assembly-/281926970508?hash=item41a4282c8c:g:kWsAAOSwnLdWqh9s
Melvok, The testarossa is different from the 512 tr. However, the good news is I just found an original 512 tr cover in Germany. Hopefully get it shipped this week. Thanks everyone for your comments. Dennis
Bringing back an old search. I'm also looking for a radio box cover part 630787 for a 512 TR. Any tips on where to look would be appreciated. I've inquired with scuderia car parts.
I'll keep an eye out as I have been searching for the ashtray for a F512M for a few years now and will skim through periodically.
Aaron, if feel like I was very lucky to find one, have never seen another on offere, I have kept my eye out just out of couriosty. what is wrong with yours?
