    First thing I did when I saw your video where the CV boot split was to check my car to make sure that both heat shields were present. Luckily they were.

    It would have been much easier to have knocked the driveshaft out of the hub. Also, pop some high temp sealant where those metal caps fit - I've seen grease flow out from them in the past.

    Yes, but then I would have had to order another $20 wheel hub nut... And I didn't think about that at the time I ordered the CV boot. ;) Hindsight.

    Good tip on the sealant. It can definitely imagine some grease pushing out on the covers.

    Thanks! It's actually a fairly easy car to work on, but unfortunately the parts are very expensive as you can imagine.
